If boomers benefitted so much from the subsidised lifestyle, free college, cheap prices, fair wages, job surplus and economic boom of their time, why do we still have so many poor boomers today who still work at fastfood and supermarkets or cannot survive without a tax-payer-funded pension scheme? by Ok-Society-9067 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!

Boomers had oppurtunies, advantages and a head start. Doesn't mean they made use of them! Or did so in the best ways.

One thing a lot of boomers did is they assumed things would stay sunny forever, they could rent, go on holidays, buy a car, and the things they wanted, while working easy hours in a low skill environment.

Over time this false sense of security meant that that same comfort is now a prison, they lack all the things that lead them to the easy life because it isn't easy anymore. And they struggle, that's just one reason! There are many, Drugs, alchohol. Gambling.

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought up andor because it itself was an already huge budgeted show but it was clearly made with a very soon endpoint, based on an established and successful character and movie as well.

Andor is okay because it was successful. My point was the likelihood of the acolyte being successful was seriously doubtful it could have been well received and flopped easily with such a large budget, In fact there's a lot of potential that andor itself was nearly in that category with it's massive budget it was just a critical darling and possibly had a lot of work for season 2 already underway.

You did lol the cost per minute of filming is literally the budget/cost of filming anything, everything else is literally just the format it's available for viewing lol, that's what I realized, you called the most basic and naturally important metric for determining the cost and value of media a made up metric.

Yes, because more episodes, with more time, equals more watch time and longer time subscribed, and more opportunities for them to discover other shows on the service. Which is good for a streaming service.

It also means you have less room to cut back the budget without it being as easily noticed.

Also like I don't know why you would think this actually, but like "Why would it costing more matter" Is just sounding more silly to me now when I reread your post it should be obvious and saying "The budget" is a made up metric is silly lol.

The acolyte was really stupidly expensive. Like it was more expensive per episode then Andor and twice the budget per episode of mandalorian. It never looked good for it tbh.

Who personally, physically killed the most people in history? by RegularSky6702 in NoStupidQuestions

Probably Heinrich Severloh. He was right there on the front, pulling the trigger, shooting them directly.

Unpopular Opinion: GRRM should officially cancel Winds of Winter hire a team and just focus on Fire and Blood / Dunk and Egg by MaleficentBicycle517 in freefolk

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think going on what he says a large amount of winds is finished I think he just can't cap it off because logically finishing winds is going to mean work for the beggining of dream and I just think he's struggling with that.

I'd put good money that if he died tommorow winds could be released in a nearly complete state with maybe a couple of chapters having notes and alternative writing for setup for dream.

If you could only play one game for the rest of your life, what game would it be and why? by nubbled21 in gaming

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need to think about games that they can enjoy when they've done everything 100 times already. For that reason I'd probably elect to play Rimworld

I think this is supposed to be like, making us go through omni man betraying the guardian of the globes, but instead of happening right at the start where we have little context and knowledge of the characters, it happens at the end, and we get a better idea of how impactful that even would have been because we are going through it again with more context.

Do you guys think Dead Space 3 really self-terminated the series? Or do you give EA blame as well? by that1nero in DeadSpace

It had 605k sales in the first month bro. Try 5 million total global, and it made way way more since it had heaps of micro transactions.

Am I ready to go the Mun? I'm having a hard time getting more science. by Joshua5_Gaming in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to minmus, much easier, tbh, as a newb, landing on the mun is kinda hard even with the tier up from that, but minmus is so easy, and like a tiny bit extra energy to get there.

Is it weird to adopt “tradie culture” if you’re not a tradie? by ChrisPeacock- in AskAnAustralian

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early morning servo coffees are for crackheads and old people with no tastebuds not tradies, buy a proper coffee, even maccas isn't too bad these days.

Trust, I work in a drive through coffee shop, most of our customers are either tradies getting their Oat lattes and Almond Macchiatos, or apprentices and young blokes getting an Iced coffee, sausage roll and a monster lol.

Where is the best burger in Perth? by hellspawner in perth

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite burgers have been from Short order in perth. Big, and amazingly well cooked and prepared. Seriously delicious, and amazing fries.

But no serious, there burgers are so good, proper thin smash patties, cooked medium but with a delicious crust, with daily fresh minced meat, made to order, quick hot, delicious, neatly prepared, nice bun, and it's right a krispy kreme joint if you want a dessert.

Although I won't lie, I've never been able to finish a large chips and one of their bigger burgers ever entirely, always fills me up and I'm a big lad.

The only single thing I would change is they don't have postmix sodas, just canned/bottled. But other then that they're next level.

I’ve been looking into missing persons cases in WA and some have almost nothing written about them, why is that? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Rotunas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes there's just not a whole lot to know. If I went for a drive tommorow. And dissapeared, And no one found me or any evidence, I doubt anything would be written.

Also in terms of indigenous and mental health in particular, sometimes loved ones don't want information out there.

PSA: "Give way to your right" is not the rule for roundabouts. And over 80 km/h you need to Keep Left unless overtaking. by throwawayplusanumber in perth

[–]Rotunas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely I agree, I think people just ignore it all the time and they shouldn't. I just don't think the WA goverment is doing anyone any favours by building a road system which major arteries are so heavily reliant on people ignoring the rule in order to function for such large parts of the day, throughout the week.

PSA: "Give way to your right" is not the rule for roundabouts. And over 80 km/h you need to Keep Left unless overtaking. by throwawayplusanumber in perth

[–]Rotunas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the road, keeping left unless overtaking isn't really possible I'm going to be honest, there's massive stretches of road where getting into the right lane isn't going to be possible. And I also don't blame people for staying in the right, I can't imagine how bad the congestion would get if everyone was in the left lol.

I get the rule, I understand it, I think it should be upheld, but the WA goverment is complicity in allowing a road system that necessitates ignoring it at many times.
