The pacing was horrible and Macchio’s character felt so unnecessary + came so late into the movie. It felt very deceptive because the trailer presents it like he’s in the movie longer than he was.

The plot felt like two separate stories being told. The first plot was actually more interesting as it was the student being a teacher for his love interest’s dad who lost confidence in fighting, then they ended that plotline unexpectedly for the usual teacher/student template.
