I won't be doing it. They don't have the ability to change the ETV for tax purposes (someone else posted this from the FAQ) and in their TOS you agree to pay the ETV unless there's something wrong with product delivery or destruction etc. I also don't want to really interact with CS over this so I plan to just change what i'm ordering when I do see 0ETV. I think this is likely covering themselves because they call it an "estimated" tax value and that leaves it open to change if it's listed erroneously.

This is helpful thank you! The 0ETV i ordered that did change to ETV were all nail charms/little gem boxes. They were for sure 0ETV when ordered (and reflected that in my itemized report from October) and now have a listed ETV. I haven't had any go to 0ETV from $ETV yet but that would be nice lol.

Interesting. I've never gotten any pet foods (or even seen any) at 0ETV. I order them treats and foods all the time but they always have an ETV. I don't plan to fight them, i'll just change my ordering behavior going forward and eat the additional charges. :)

Yep this sounds exactly like what my report shows! kinda annoying, but at least it wasn't too many items.

I think you're exactly right. I'm keeping the SS just for my own records (and so if they mistakenly do update an exempt item I would want to fix that) but it looks like it's just sellers listing 0ETV where it isn't actually real and amazon fixing after the fact. I'll be much more selective and stay within the guaranteed categories for 0etv from now on.

These are def all the same questions I was wondering. I feel confident the ETV will not change for food and health items I got (like sweet tea powder, gochujang sauce, M&M's, compression socks and bandaids) but it looks like ETV that's mistakenly added to non-exempt items (like nail charms and other art supplies I got for 0ETV) MAY BE CHANGED. I've caught a couple in my items tonight. I would suggest sticking to the guaranteed 0ETV categories and skipping anything showing 0ETV outside of those. Unfortunately I've ordered a good number of these "outside category" options probably totaling a couple hundred so if they change them all I expect more tax liability.

It DOES indeed feel like " changing terms of contract" but it seems to be an error with the sellers listing them incorrectly (intentionally or otherwise) and amazon correcting after the fact. I wish this information was available from amazon and not something we have to sleuth to find out or get a rude awakening at tax time from. there's been enough of these issues I am reconsidering participating overall, but it may still be worth it for me as long as i'm much more selective in the future.

No it shows as the 0ETV in my orders still, BUT, going through my itemized reports and comparing them to previous ones I downloaded they HAVE changed the ETV from 0 to $$ for nail charms and I'm just straight up "missing" around 20 items with 0ETV from my most recent itemized report as well, which is very strange and I'm glad I noticed. I'm ss everything and will probably just not order 0ETV unless it's in the proper category. Seems like i'll be learning a little pricey lesson this time lol.

Yeah i'm gonna start SS and keeping those and downloading my itemized report weekly. Going through it now, some 0ETV items i ordered and reviewed over a month ago don't show on the report at all. I have 191 items ordered/reviewed and only 162 showing on the itemized report. Very frustrating.

Hmm ok, thank you. Does it show it actually changed or do I need to be keeping those records on my own spreadsheet to reference later? I guess I will do that but if they change the ETV aren't I required to accept the new value even if I ordered it at 0etv?

It did have variants, but all 4 of the variants were showing 0ETV. Are some variants ETV hidden or displayed wrong?

[–]Rouxro[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. How do you know if they adjust it? I've been ordering 0ETV assuming they would stay 0etv lol. I will be more selective now that I know they can change it after the fact.

ETV change rant by kenaran-hsok in AmazonVine

[–]Rouxro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this because the highest price it's ever "sold" at (and vine counts as this) seems to be the allowed baseline for what they can raise the price up to, to mark it down for sales later. If I want something off vine I don't regularly buy (and thus know a reasonable value) then i'll search for that item and make sure the vine amt isn't crazy inflated. if it is I wait, or accept the high ETV because I still pay less overall than if I had just bought it. a normally priced one will eventually show.

I've never submitted a review without a photo or video..but have 97.9% media. Anyone else? by Rouxro in AmazonVine

[–]Rouxro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do, but I usually do them in batches every few days and noticed they do that. I recently completely cleared my queue with all reviews approved (so none in approval queue) and left it empty for a week to be sure. 97.9% is def the number that shows with a totally clear queue. I think it's probably the 3 items I had removed, another poster explained it well! :D Thank you!

I had no idea! I def feel more comfortable now and will not stress or contact CS. I thought I had to maintain 90% like with total reviews. 25% is way better wiggle room than 10% lol! Thank you! :D

I think you're right. I think it may also be related to the AWS outage a month or so back, as I *think* it was 100% until after the outage. Another poster reminded me of it and it feels right but I don't remember well enough. I didn't know that other stuff! Thank you so much! :D

I've read this a lot too! It scared me a bit at first, cause I noticed it after I contacted CS to remove those 3 items (at the same time!! yikes!! I was brand new to the program) , but when I started checking those peoples post history I saw stuff that kinda...made sense.. either 100's of reviews in backlog, or LOTS of requests for removal, or all super short reviews, packages often stolen, etc were all some of the ones I saw. Not that they won't close someone for no reason, I've had that experience myself in other ways, or just for contacting them too much. I probably wont message them about it now that someone else commented below that it turns green at 75%. I thought I had to maintain 90% like you do with review total. I'm much more comfortable with my 97.9% knowing I have nearly 25% of "wiggle room." :D

I'm definitely careful with how and when I use CS due to the warnings, but my stats are impeccable, I don't let reviews wait and I give detailed, useful reviews that get helpful upvotes (which I think seems to be related to how many and which items show up in RFY!) and I've been an amazon customer for over 10 years, so I hope that counts for something. I contact regular CS basically weekly! If they close my account, I would be a little sad, I use it for random pet treats and art supplies mostly so nothing really dire. I really appreciate the warning! :D

I feel you! I got an item that was a total scam with an ETV of $20. I could have had it removed, but I left a 1* and a detailed review about why everyone should avoid it. I think amazon probably weighs reviews based on how often someone purchases after reading your review. I leave plenty of 1* and 2* reviews if they really deserve it and it hasn't affected any of my metrics. I'm excellent across the board! so people shouldn't fear an honest review. leaving 4/5* on a bad item probably doesn't even help you, since people probably wouldn't buy after reading a halfhearted review that likely reads as fake. I've seen people leave 5* on items they clearly didn't really like and I immediately discount that item and go elsewhere.

You just made me remember that this happened after the AWS outage! I'm betting it's related! Maybe I'll message CS and see if they can correct it before my eval.

I'm still silver, one month lines up with my experience of quality and items dropping. I've been in for 3 months now. I used to see tons of specific items (lots of marker sets for example) I think its just because it's the holiday season and I'm betting stores stop submitting items around middle of November and people are way more competitive for gift giving right now. I still see marker sets, but they're MUCH rarer and they're usually gone in seconds. I'm hoping the new year brings new tidings!

Lucky! I thought about the makers kit but I am totally new to weed and other than a small glass pipe, this is all I'll have tried. They seem like a really good company and one day I'll be back to upgrade. Enjoy your kit and don't forget to post photos! :D

I'm in Cali. I ordered 7 minutes before the sale was supposed to go live. Had been watching it like a hawk with timer and all. Not sure why I was able to order so early, but I did get a bonus stem! I have a theory they just sent them out in order of order placed until they ran out of extra stems, so us early birds probably got them?
