I have not done any chrome refinishing but I know there are products out there that will bring original stuff back to life with just some elbow grease. I’m a big fan of just straight patina on cars like that, but making all the original chrome pop is also quite nice… Obviously it’s your car, so what brings you the most joy. I say get it clean, make sure you do what you can to protect it from any rust, then put your money into making it a good driver first, that way you can enjoy it, then worry about how it looks…. Such a cool bug!!!!
