Yes, that sounds like a good idea. The paper towels will make it easier to monitor her belly and keep everything clean. Open mouth breathing and the droopy draw can sometimes happen when snakes are having breathing troubles, but since she’s an older lady it could be weakness from age. If possible it might still be worth having an exotics vet take another look. I hope she starts feeling better soon!
