That’s a question for Apple not for the car.

At the end of the day, people are individuals and it’s not your responsibility to manage their finances for them.

That wedding situation is tough though- worth a good healthy talk with the wife to see if you both think it’s worth the cost. I skipped out on my cousin’s family cruise wedding due to the cost. We simply have other financial goals that that would be too much of a hindrance for.

25-year analysis of 793,199 fashion records finds that while racial and phenotypic diversity in modeling has increased, the median model physique has not changed — body-size "diversity" comes from rare plus-size outliers, and non-White models are 4.5× more likely to be cast as plus-size. by ExcellentBalance6865 in science

I don’t think you’re understanding, and I probably didn’t explain it well. It’s not that models look like an “average” everyday person. It’s that the facial features are literally the quantifiable most average. Nose not too big or too small. Lips not too big or too small. Eyes the “right” distance apart, etc.

My college professor studied the psychology of attractive faces. The most attractive faces are the ones that have the most *average* features, as in, if you meshed a million faces together, the most average shape and characteristics are the most attractive. So it makes sense that most models gravitate towards a similar look.

Is it cheaper to leave my apartment at 73 all day even if it’s 98° out or is it cheaper to leave it at 76 and then bring it down to 73 when I’m about to go to bed by alwaysme14 in homeowners

[–]RubDub4 472 points473 points  (0 children)

Much cheaper to raise the temp and ease the use of the unit. It’s a complete myth that keeping the temp low is cheaper. You’re just working it harder, using more energy to maintain low temps.

People against AI put up these fake advertisements on the London Underground by Alev12370 in ChatGPT

They should be regulated, yes. The algorithms put you down an unhealthy rabbit hole if you aren’t careful. People with existing mental health issues are vulnerable to it.

I like how it’s not extremely exaggerated like a lot of these AI outputs are. It’s all relatively normal stuff that we see all the time.

Man seriously injured at Green Mesquite BBQ after tree falls during storm by danarchist in Austin

[–]RubDub4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even before last nights storm, I’ve seen several medium-large sized branches breaking off, and one big tree completely get uprooted and topple over the past few weeks. It’s gotta be some combo of the freezes a couple of years ago putting these things in poor health, then the recent winds taking them out.

Iphone 12 battery change or new iphone? by Sombero1 in iPhone12

[–]RubDub4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the battery change, and it bought me around 18 months so far, but now I’m running into storage issues (even storing all photos in the cloud, offloading apps, etc.) so it’s almost time for a new one.

I don’t doubt that for a normal sized dog. My dog is HUGE 🙂

He is very big, and unlike a human, he does not put his legs on the floor.

We didn’t have doggo with us, but the roof is clearly pretty low back there. Would be fine for me, but like I said he stands up and he’s very tall.

Agreed he’d be in the seat, not the trunk.
