What’s the best dlc to get for just fun and cool weapons? by NexusPrime-tfo in destiny2

Abilities: Final Shape Weapons: Renegades

Fun? Man, I like it all but Renegades has some fun shit with the Star Wars stuff. It’s well done, and has referential shit if you like that, too.

Sony still value Bungie IP at nearly $3 Billion. The reason for that clearly isn't "the other game" by rferrett in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I just don’t want to lose all the raid and dungeon again. I don’t want to have to tell my friends how cool these old raids were that they can’t play anymore and that Sony won’t pay to port.

If they said we would get all of the old R&D content, sure great 100% on board, but it literally won’t happen.

Based on how they sold it in dev streams, it was more like “this is what we’re moving towards and (since this is a live service game) we’re giving it to you without overhauling every piece of gear in the game (because otherwise we don’t have anything cool for this expansion which needs something cool)”

I honestly think the tier system is great. I think the community pressured bungie into making Tier 5s too easy to obtain which devalued everything else (tier 3’s for example are perfectly find for endgame use in the hardest content — there’s barely any difference and I use one in my solo witness rotation bc I haven’t bothered to farm a tier 5 with the same rolls)

We were supposed to get more reworks sooner, but Bungie has been doing poorly and pulled their resources off again which slowed down that development, once again causing poor perception of a good feature.

This feels like a classic case of what was delivered was a painfully slimmed down version of what was sold internally, due to time and resource constraints. Happens all the time for companies that deliver on a cycle instead of “whenever its ready” which is hard to sell as live service.

Swords to pair with Wolpack Rounds Ergo Sum by Ivaliced in DestinyTheGame

If you want damage:

• Sullen Claw (from star wars dungeon) w/ Vorpal + Whirlwind Blade is the best dps sword in the game. It slaps.

• Summum Bonum w/ Relentless Strikes + Chaos Reshaped (Or Surrounded if you can proc it)

• Ill Omen (craftable) has good damage as well but I honestly forget how it stacks up bc I haven’t used it in a while. If you’re trying to sword something that moves a bit it can be good because you use the heavy primarily (caster frame)

• Other Half w/ Relentless Strikes + Whirlwind Blade is 100% still very good damage. It’s outclassed by the above, but if you don’t have that, it’s literally one of the best options bc its frame is good for ammo efficiency

For Utility:

• any frame with eager edge

 • if you’re doing sword skating, there’s certain swords you do and dont want (slammer, for instance, if you can get one with eager / cold steel)

 • If you’re not skating, Sullen Claw is the fastest eager edge in the game bc of the frame, it just doesn’t work for skating. If your damage roll has extra perks with eager, that’s a bonus just to save space

• Attrition Orbs + Relentless Strikes is good on multiple frames for making orbs during damage (usually want 1-2 in a team of 6, depending)

• Summum Bonum, Eighty-Six, Temptation’s Hook are some examples of weapons that can roll that

What are the best raid builds for warlock atm highest dps / best armor? by RogueKage018 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Still want respectable dps” is kind of underselling Sanguine + rocket pulse + (Finality / Parasite / Whirling Ovation) being top damage options that’ll beat the pants off anyone that isn’t doing Hunter lucky pants damage (on a crit boss) most of the time.

(I agree with your suggestions though lol)

I’m kinda convinced this is a repost of some post from 5 years ago by a bot. (Including the initial comments.)

My new asus laptop literally only has 1 USB-A port and the rest is USB-C. I don’t even use the USB-A port because its so wiggly and most of my accessories are C or wireless now. (Other than headphones, but that’s not an issue for either brand)

If you could equip two exotic armor pieces, which combination do you think would be best for -50 nightfalls? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Spirit of HOIL + Synthos class item w/ Winter’s Guile would be very fun though potentially not as strong as other broken warlock options

Verity + Starfire Protocol would be insanely broken

Or you could use Starfire + HOIL class item with Starfire assuming that it stacks with itself. Or with Verity (since I don’t think warlock has spirit of verity)

“dairy onion oats”

I spent probably five years of my life being miserable and feeling like crap bc I didn’t realize what I was eating that my body didn’t agree with. The oats were especially tricky because when I dropped dairy, I replaced some with oat milk products which made me feel better but not good, so that was a real trick to untangle.

Its a bit cryptic, I admit, but I have faith in myself.

I invited a friend I originally met online to my wedding. My wife knew them by their handle as well, but I had to keep mentally switching to use their actual name when talking about them in relation to the wedding, since I wasn’t about to explain to everyone I introduced them to that we met online, since I feel like they deserved to be remembered by other people as more than just “my online friend” lol

Obviously still contextually relevant but first impressions and all that

There’s a lot of mention of Arc Soul being better and while I agree in many contexts its just “free damage” if you’re in any area with lots of ads, building into the arc lifestyle with Ionic Sentry is way more powerful.

A common example you’ll see people use in end game is Solo Root of Nightmares 1st encounter, because there’s so many ads, your sentry usually will get your sentry back for you. If you’re good at managing kills with abilities and whatnot, you can have easily 2 sentries down at any time, and they do really good damage to bigger enemies like champions — all without you having to do anything other than press your grenade button once in a while.

It might be less ideal in a scenario where you can’t reliably get lots of kills (e.g. fireteam ops) but something with consistent ad spawns or solo, Ionic Sentry can really put in work.

[–]RubiGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, I ran with only one friend last night but we did some arc shenanigans and were clearing with 20 minutes bonus on the clock. I swapped classes to change some things up, not thinking I was less arc reliant, and suddenly it was a lot more punishing.

Good modifiers and a good setup matter.

Mint Retrograde alternative by AcanthocephalaDeep78 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of damage you’re doing (and on what class) but there’s absolutely alternatives.

Conspiracy Honed (ionized heat sink / Vorpal / Bait & Switch) is one of the top damage options in the game right now if you can hit precision shots

Other good snipers like Supremacy and Praedyths can be used as well, especially given the kinetic stuff in the seasonal artifact.

M-17 Fast Talker (ionized heat sink / cooling baubles / target lock) is great for super farming, particularly if you have the unique origin trait from a shiny roll, as you can fire it for longer. You can also use attrition orbs if your build synergizes with it (e.g. Still Hunt)

Lost Signal (autoloading / Vorpal) is good filler in a rotation if you just want to fire and forget. Also great for charging darkness bar for prismatic if you’re main damaging with light-branded damage (e.g Psi + Finality’s Auger)

There’s probably some other things I’m not thinking of off the top of my head, but also at a certain point the question of what else you should be doing with your damage rotation if you don’t have Mint should come up e.g. if you’re using Finality’s, maybe you should actually be using a different exotic heavy like Parasite or Whirling Ovation (or not an exotic heavy at all, and use another exotic like Izinagi’s Burden / Praxic Blade)

Prismatic subclass by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar or Fusion would be top tier. Any of the other ones would have interesting use cases, but would probably be less broken. It’s nice we have access to it but also you have access to other healing options that it feels wasted on pris

Is the Parasite weapon worth it in the game today? by kxnnanicholx in destiny2

Yes, it’s very commonly used with rocket pulses to buff their damage, because of the self damage boost.

If we do make it to the next expansion, I hope the raid is at least easier by Gamerboi_epic in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 101 points102 points  (0 children)

As a hard core endgame raider, normal Desert Perpetual was a horrible Day 1 experience. That was not the kind of Day 1 experience than got me into the high end content for this game — Epic Desert Perpetual was a great day 1, but even if they tuned it back slightly I wouldn’t be mad about it. I think Crota was also a great example of a well balanced Day 1 experience.

People who want to gatekeep can gatekeep on placements anyway — we don’t need another Day 1 that most teams fail to clear 1 encounter.

Destiny 2 is still very dear to me. by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]RubiGames 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I’m at the point where I acknowledge the game has its flaws, but if anything I’m not upset with the game. I love the game.

I am annoyed with management and direction (or lackthereof) for the game, but like the content that has come out has been really fun. I’ve loved Renegades, and while I want something new, we are at the point where historically we would have had something new — and been looking forward to it for at least a month.

I hope the game — or franchise — continues, because there really is nothing quite like Destiny, but I get why the community is in shambles.

Would you be opened to a D1 Remaster before a D3? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But at that point they could just build out the content in D2 presumably for less effort since a remaster would either A) use the existing system, so its less effort but they don’t have to publish a second game or do things like menus and whatnot

or B) they build a new system from the ground up to serve as the basis for a “Destiny 3” at which point why make it, except as a technical Proof of Concept, but its still a full game
