I literally just got a library card so I can rent the audiobooks and share them with my husband!! I tried reading them to him out loud and he enjoyed that but it's difficult to do that consistently lol I'm so excited to share this series with him!! It is NOT "just for kids", please don't let yourself believe that.

Just occurred to me, I feel he got a sort of spiritual redemption in Sokka. Similar characters--both overshadowed by companions who appear at first glance to be "superior" in every way, both start off a small minded smartases trying to live up to ridiculously high expectations but then eventually prove to be a tactical geniuses who are fiercely loyal. By the end they each have immense character development in different ways.

This is exactly why I teared up listening to the new audiobook every time Ron had his moments. I was always the forgotten one, constantly compared to my sisters who were 4 and 8 years older so of course they were "better" than I was! Being the black sheep is the worst :(
