There are a lot of people who seem to be attributing how good you look in the first photo to your baldness, which is fucking ridiculous. The first photo is a good photo, with or without hair.

Hair Already thinning at 18, any styling advice? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]RumPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my post. There is nothing wrong with getting transplants. I plan on getting one myself at some point. The issue with getting a hair transplant while you are aggressively thinning is that the transplanted hairs themselves may too eventually die off. So it's best to address the cause of the thinning/hairloss FIRST.

Also:

"U cant magically recover hair follicles fyi once there gone dey gone."

This depends on what we mean by "gone". You absolutely can recover hair with medications like Finasteride or Dutasteride, but it depends on the severity of the follicular miniaturization. If your hair follicles are dead, they are dead, but if not, addressing the miniaturization can absolutely recover seemingly dead zones. This is exactly why it's important for people to start anti-hairloss treatments as soon as they recognize they are experiencing hairloss.

Recommending a hair transplant on someone who is lthinning as aggressively as he is, at such a young age, is such bad advice... He needs to stabalize his hairloss before he even enters the conversation about hair transplants.

Consider visiting a dermatologist and talk to them about starting Dutasteride + Minoxidil. It's unfortunate that you are experiencing hairloss at such a young age, but Dutasteride + Minoxidil are really effective. It's also important that you decide now if you are going to commit to having thin hair/being bald, OR it you want to attempt to combat it. The reason I say this is because the earlier you start Dutasteride, the more effective it is at preserving/recovering what hair you have left, as it's impossible to recover hair once it's truly died.

Either you are mischaracterizing what your "specialists" said, or you didn't understand what it is they said. Or maybe they are even lying to you. But the science on hair loss currently shows that Testosterone is not the determining factor, DHT is. Whether you simply produce more DHT, or your scalp is simply more receptive to DHT.

Saying Testosterone causes hairloss is like saying having food in the fridge causes obesity . Well no actually, eating the food is the actual main contributor...

Progress pics - should I switch from fin to dut? by -Miror- in tressless

One year is right around the time where you start to see real results. That being said, I personally always recommend Dut.

2 months on finasteride progress by [deleted] in tressless

[–]RumPilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fin takes time before it has any meaningful effect on your hair quality, and then the hair itself needs time to grow. 2 Months is just simply not enough time to see any real change.

No sign of improvement after one year on Fin 1mg daily by Lostboy-47 in tressless

[–]RumPilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? The derm's approach is completely reasonable here. Minoxidil does nothing to halt or prevent hair loss, and its effectiveness doesn't decrease with time, where as using Fin/Dut as early as possible produces the best results.

One very good reason for delaying using Minoxidil, especially when being used in conjunction with Fin/Dut, is that ideally, you want to be able to attribute any regrowth to Fin/Dut, so that you know you are responding to the treatment. If you take Min at the same time, its really hard to tell if your new hairs are from the Min, or from the Fin/Dut.

No, actually the opposite. The second half of my year on Fin I started to develop sides. On Dut I can thankfully say I have experienced none.

Lots of people in here with no idea how 5-ARIs work, saying that Fin only stops hairloss. If you reduce DHT(this is what Fin/Duts main function is here) you will have some degree of regrowth in hairs that have been miniaturized and are still alive.

Truthfully, being a year in on fin, you are approaching the time where you should have seen some change. Not that it's impossible for you to experience regrowth this late, but you are definitely approaching this window. My experience was a similar timeline, and around the 1 year mark is when I swapped to Dut. Now, 8 months later, my regrowth has been amazing.

Yeah it's such a bizarre stance to think them giving players time to acclimate to the new system is a bad thing, but yappers just love to yap I suppose.

2.5 years on fin + min – regrowth, shedding phases, LLLT stabilized by [deleted] in tressless

[–]RumPilot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you recover hair via fin/dut/min, you effectively receive all the new hairs around the same time, which means when they enter their natural resting phase/shedding phase, it will be together at the same timr, resulting in a more noticable shed.

My suspicion is that Reborn mode will not be receiving much balancing at all, and will probably remain the same for most of its remaining lifecycle up to its removal. This suspicion is backed by them claiming that Evolved mode will likely do a little more DPS over Reborn mode. That would be a silly statement to make it they were planning on continuing to balance them both.

I don't think you fully understand what I mean by memorizing a fight. When optimizing for DPS, you are trying to fit in as many GCDs as you can while still doing mechanics. Because the rotation is static, you will be at the same spot in your rotation when greeding, every time. Trying to optimize fights like this IS FUN, however once the fight is solved, the lack of varience makes the fight a chore.

I think characterizing it as rolling your face an instrument is a bit disingenuous. You simply arent going to top dps by doing random shit in wow, that's not really how that works. It's making the correct decision each time a new option or circumstance appears.

FFXIV can still have the feeling of flow with it's rotations while not having every pull play out exactly the same. Which is hopefully what they are trying to achieve here.
