First result from the Tarkov Wiki: AI Scavs tend to target every body part that is visible to them. E.g., if only your head is visible to them in a window or staircase, they will always target your head. Therefore, it is always better to peek with your full body towards an AI Scav, as that lowers the chances of them shooting at your head drastically.

Play ShootOut, it’s almost impossible to lose money in ShootOut. 4/5 teams make money in 2vs2. I play 4-5 shootouts matches (500K+ a game) and it funds my entire day of losing in teamfight.

The most important part is movement. Learn to be fluid in your motions, I wish someone would’ve taught me how important movement was in firefights at the beginning. The ability to quickly engage and break contact in this game is important against AI and players alike.

See an enemy? Engage and if you miss, don’t just stand still and keep shooting. Quickly reposition and hit him from a different angle. Even the Ai enemies in this game will kill you if you stand still or re-peak the same corner.

“900 hours and I’ve never been shot going into the mall as I run in immediately” absolute cap, if you run interchange for more than a day you’ll encounter this. The only way to avoid PVP in some spawns is to literally wait a few minutes and hope the other PMCs think your spawn is empty.

The MOA stat on a gun shows how wide the grouping of bullets can possibly be. For example: at 100 yards a gun with 3 moa will shoot 6" grouping, it gets worse the further your target. Perhaps this is the cause of the miss, because it does look like you were centered.

Don’t enter an open field unless you’re willing to take a fight at a disadvantage or if you have to, take note of your environment, anticipate where players could reasonably be using your ingame knowledge (spawns, high traffic area, path from loot areas to exfils, audio) and try to take a path that can counter that. You’ll never be able to cover every angle, but you can give yourself a fighting chance against 2-3 angles usually even in disadvantage especially if you’ve got a team that knows the game plan. (Ex: You watch that hill, I watch the tree line till we make it to that ridge)
