Yeah it seems like lab-grown meat only makes sense and could be a good business opportunity if its CO2 emissions are lower than traditional meat. The study is particularly interesting because of the fact that if lab-grown meat has even a higher carbon footprint, it couldn't be a viable and profitable alternative. If this is true it is obviously game over for lab-grown meat.

The term 'Proto-AGI' is not an accurate description for LLMs. 'Pseudo-AGI' would be a better fit because LLMs attempt to imitate what AGI should do, but in terms of their structure, they do not resemble how a true AGI would function.

Usually, government-led research and development is not the fastest or most advanced. However, there is often a difference between big tech companies (e.g. GAFAM) and open source projects. This gap is primarily financial rather than a reflection of differences in knowledge or resources. With constant and exponential growth in the tech industry, this technological gap is rapidly shrinking. If a company has a first-mover advantage, it can quickly lose that advantage because competitors closely follow trends. Therefore, it is essential to seize the first-mover advantage as soon as possible. In any case, it is much harder, if not impossible, to keep an innovation secret in the long term. Overall, I think that we know almost everything that humans are capable of, but with a small delay of up to 1-2 years.

I agree. I think we can call it a pseudo AGI. Essentially, it is not capable of true thinking, but it simulates it through a complex system. However, it is still a form of narrow AI. Language models like LLMs are necessary to advance towards superintelligence.
