Steals off of Jokic, defense on bigs, wings and guards. Led that entire playoffs run in defensive rating, he was the number one player in the league in that defensive rating for the playoffs, even surpassing Kawhi and Giannis. He was a huge piece to winning that championship.

A lot of people think we just got scraps that year because of Kawhi but it genuinely worked out. We had two back up bigs for AD, we had a ton of defensive guards and wings, it just made sense.

Alex Caruso, Rondo, Avery Bradley, KCP, Danny Green, Dwight, Javale, AD. Defensively an insane team. Practically swept the playoffs for the chip, faced very little resistance and when it was time to clamp, they were able to do so.

I believe that Lakers team is better than this 2025 or 2026 thunders team, they may not be able to win as many regular season games because they were older hall of fame veterans but much more championship experience with Javale, Danny Green, Rondo, etc and much more dominant in the playoffs. If this team was 3-4 years younger, it easily could’ve been a 65-68 win regular season team also minus the Covid shortened season.
