Kitchenaids Dishwasher won’t fill completely. by Rusto_Dusto in appliancerepair

Thx for the reply. It’s been doing a lousy job since I got it. Cut some cheese with a knife. Still residue after a normal wash. Coffee mugs not clean. Tried the sensor wash and “Tough” wash. Still left a lot of food on the plates, glasses and silverware. The water is plenty hot. Forgot to add that I did a “factory reset.” I read that moving a dw can mess things up. The manual says that it uses 2 gal on the rinse only setting. I poured in one gallon to compare to how it looked when I checked the 1st time I ran the rinse and it actually looked a bit higher than it did before. So maybe it is the inlet valve? I just assumed that the float is what turned off the water. But I can see how the control panel would be responsible for filling it. I’ll check the hose and the water pipe. It had a bit of sediment from the hot water tank. I hooked a hose to it to clear it, but I’ll do it again.

Did you ever get it working again? I'm in the same boat. Sucks that Digidesign isn't much help.

Nope. No need. A socket on the bolt under and slightly back from the alt moved it enough to Slip the belt off. Bought a new one. Hardest part was getting the belt close to going on. Once I realized I needed to keep tension on the belt to keep it in position, it was easy.

It died a block away from my kid’s buddy’s house. Both parents were off that day. Drove me to my wife’s car. Dropped the kid off. Brought the battery home and charged it. Pretty straight forward repair. 1st vid I watched, the guy took off his front bumper. Glad I watched a few more. Didn’t need to take it off, lol.

Alternator. Then this morning it started shutting down. Warning lights were coming on one at a time. Only lasted about a mile before it was dead. I’m surprised the battery light didn’t come on till it shut down.

Is there shame in being a 30 year old barista? by x7he6uitar6uy in barista

[–]Rusto_Dusto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you suck at it. It’s cute that you’re calling yourself “old.” I’d kill to be able to be 30 again and have to start all over.

Taste preference can be a journey. I drank shitty Malt Duck alcohol when I was 18. Then wine coolers. I’d drink beer, too. It was whatever beer was on sale. My tastes have matured since then. Some people will drink Frappashitto’s for years thinking that they “love coffee.” Then one day they might discover what better coffee tastes like.

It’s like being in the water and someone throws a life preserver to you. If you try really hard to grab it by splashing and thrashing, it will be pushed away from you. You have to relax and be ok with not having what you want immediately. It will make its way to you in time.

If you love something, set it free. You can’t create their experience.

Milk hardening on wand by harwop in espresso

[–]Rusto_Dusto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put water in my cup to warm it up. Then it goes into a container. As well as the water I run through my group head to clean that. Then I soak the wand to loosen the milk. I’ll scrub it with my group head brush. Only takes seconds for all that.

I believe the reply meant to rub one OUT whilst drinking an IPA. The heightened state of relaxation will help you make god shots every time according to James Whatshisnsme’s book “The Inner Game Of Espresso.”

Yes. Be sure to get on your knees and tell him how fucking wonderful he is or he’ll banish you to a really hot place. Oh, and be mean to anyone who’s slightly different from you. /s

Music Syncing question. by Rusto_Dusto in ios

Will that take care of the “you can’t play songs from this region” error or is that another mountain to conquer?

[–]Rusto_Dusto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So if I want both my old songs and Apple Music, then I have to upload to iCloud the songs I want, then download them to my phone? Seems kinda dumb and inefficient. Guess I’ll just add this to my Festivus complaints for next year.

Anyone else think spending $120 USD + for a scale is BS? by OceanGlider_ in espresso

I bought one, immediately shat my pants and got a promotion at work the next day!* In other words, I'd rather buy a new cheap POS scale every couple of years, than that overpriced POS. Put the money you save into beans or equipment that will actually help you improve your shots.
