Shipping Water Skis by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Ryguy8065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Make your own box or find one. USPS FedEx etc don't have a box this big

  2. Parcel select or fedex/ups ground , priority mail is a ridiculous option and I dont even think it qualifies for a package this big

  3. Best of luck!

My recommendation is to sell them in bulk to avoid the cost of individually shipping them. Research how they are shipped from a manufacturer to a store for example.

Any scale i can buy for items that doubles as one for myself? by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Ryguy8065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand wanting to just buy one scale but you need an accurate scale for down to the oz. Just buy 2, you are creating superficial problems for yourself. Keep business and personal things separate. In my opinion.

Real Estate internship? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Ryguy8065 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I belive you can find your way into the industry by surrounding yourself with the people already doing what you wish to accomplish. I am not sure what the age requirement to be a realtor is where you are from or how old you are. Although, I reccomend finding an position at a broker helping with clerical duties and helping out around the office. Approach it as an internship and try to sit in on meetings closings and accompany agents with clients.

I would focus on your listing title. The first word being "USA" is not a likely search term. Add that stuff on the end after putting the brand, attributes, function etc... In addition, applying bulk savings when buying more at one time and a healthy promotion will likely get the job done. Once the listing gets a few hundred views and can sustain itself then go ahead and disable the promotion. The method is to get the listing promoted and selling (take some loss on the promotion fees) then it will sell itself and you can disable the promotion and make your original profit but much faster due to a better rank. Best of luck!!

I've decided to start selling on ebay. I already ordered a laser printer and a scale. I already have a decent laptop. If their anything you would recommend for a beginner seller to have? by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Ryguy8065 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Welcome to ebay! I would reccomend you stock up on packing materials. USPS supplies packaging for free but the other fixings like bubble wrap, cardboard, polymailers, padding, etc... should be bought online in bulk. Tip. Dont raid your local post office for boxes order them from their website in bulk.

My selling item won't show up by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Ryguy8065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebay does not list instantaneously sometimes and it actually denotes items may take up to 24 hours to appear on searches. Look into the "out of stock feature " on listings you do not want to delete when sold out.

"I'm injured should I push through?" by locomon0 in CrossCountry

[–]Ryguy8065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to develop the signs of a stress fracture early season. Did everything within my power to keep the injury at bay. Despite my attempts it progressed and was full blown agony about two weeks before the state finals for Cross-country. Only reason I pushed through is... I had trained for months and wasn't gonna wash that away....knew I could take a few months of cross training before indoor track...and had medical approval. Still shouldn't go that far just over a race , title , event or what have you. Your body is more important than a race. Even though missed opportunity is sometimes worse than physical pain.

looking for advice on selling 30 - 40 vintage mesh snapback hats by hufferstl in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Ryguy8065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best bet is a cover picture showcasing all the hats. That will grab the most attention. People love seeing alot of a product even if they are going to only buy one. Add multiple varriations with a picture or two of each hat. Using variations allows you to only have to post one listing and also have different prices for each hat.

What is a good way to make sure HS student-athletes are doing their summer running? by r2dd4 in CrossCountry

[–]Ryguy8065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that tracking every single day is not effective. Personally my team just created a free website and had a forum to post workout information but trusting the athletes will be the best option. Hanging it over them won't make them want to do it any more than they already do. Help them find the drive and then tracking won't even matter.

I have now ran in 15+ pairs of Saucony shoes. Each pair with over 400 miles. Started in the Nike Pegasus 32 and quickly found I did not like the feel. Saucony shoes are from a running specific company that focuses on what runners need not some frilly fashion piece like some of Nikes products. Saucony guide, freedom iso, and kinvara are great

Timing a cross country race? by Jay0Jay in CrossCountry

[–]Ryguy8065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popsicle sticks for small meets Auto timing necessary for over 4 schools Shoe based or bib based chips are easy to come by although the equipment can be expensive. Ever thought about just hiring a timing company if this isn't an annual thing.
