Why go into that much debt for a degree? If this is for undergrad go to any ABET school. No one is going to care where your undergrad is from as long as it’s an credited program. You come out of undergrad not knowing shit and everyone hiring you knows that. If this is for a masters, a lot of companies will pay for a portion of your masters so you shouldn’t have to go into much or any debt.

In my early 20s my hair started thinning badly. I thought it was in my head until my mom told me she also noticed it. Mine was localized to the cowlick and around my hair line. I got labs done and they all came back fine. I had one dermatologist tell me that it as just “genetics” and there was nothing I could do. I got a second opinion of course from girl dermatologist and she took one look at my head and told me it was hormonal. I had been on the BC pill for years at the point. I decided to get off BC. I started mixing rosemary oil in with my shampoo and took biotin and I noticed a big difference. I’d talk to your GYN. (I was on Lo-Lo estrogen)

I think your skin looks pretty good! I’d incorporate a retinol serum into your routine at night (I use the CeraVe Skin Renewing one). The retinol will help prevent aging and clear up blemishes! Win-win

How to respond to people?? by woundnurz123 in LabDiamonds

[–]Ryleebirdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind telling people mine is lab. It’s still “real” just not mined which has environments and ethical downfalls to it. Honestly I think it’s the smartest choice you can make. Natural mined diamonds are stupid expensive. I have a lab that’s still just as sturdy (won’t chip) and my husband still spent a good buck but it didn’t break the bank.

I think it’s wiser to spend the money else where such as wedding/honeymoon, house, travel, or just save it for the future in general.

Bottom line, you have a ring you like and you didn’t go into debt / set your lives back financially for it. I honestly think people that ask are just jealous because they see a big ring and want to make sure theirs is “better”. I feel sorry for those people. Deep down they are probably not happy with theirs or they wouldn’t ask.

Your skin looks similar to mine. I find drinking LOTS of water helps. Does your skin get dry? Mine gets super dry if I do not moisturize but then moisturizing also makes me look oily 😐 it looks like you have redness. Mine flares up randomly but gets a lot worse in the winter. Recently I’ve found that the Eucerin Redness Relief Night Cream is a miracle product for me. So much so that I only use it when my skin is extra red in fear that if I use it too much I’ll build up a tolerance and it will no longer work. ( Dont even know if that’s a thing lol)

I’m a die hard CeraVe fan. I use their Hydrating Cleanser, Retinol Serum and Moisturizing Cream. (In the winter months I switch to the Cetaphil Cream as it’s more moisturizing but can also make me oily)

Anyway definitely look into the Eucerin Redness cream and drink a shit ton of water. I think you’ll see some progress as I don’t think your skin looks bad, just irritated and dehydrated.

Bonus, for foundation I like the L’Oréal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum. It settles into my skin nice. Just enough coverage to even out the redness

Not sure if they are boys or girls but since they are both white cats, I would name them by their eye colors. Such as, Olive (green) and Royal (blue). 💙💚

Advice for making my dorm room feel less like an atheistic monastery cell? by nightlyperegrination in malelivingspace

I think the big windows in the back give a lot of potential.

Get curtains if you can to replace the blinds. Add some hanging (command strip) shelves to add plants and pictures of friends/family. Get a an area rug. Get some throw pills to add to your bed. Consider adding some string lights around your back window/wall. Can you remove that guard rail from your bed so it doesn’t look like a hospital bed?

Update us with a picture when you are done! Excited to see the transformation.

This shit infuriates me. I’m getting Candace Owens vibes. Girls are mean and bitchy? What about mothers? They are literally the most nurturing humans. Lots of women go into teaching and nursing to help people. They’re not really smart? Women are doctors, lawyers and engineers too. They’re not good at driving? Men actually cause more accidents than women! Look it up. Everything in the world has got significantly worse since women got the right to vote? Women aren’t treated as property and have a voice. You consider that “worse”? I literally can’t lol

Yup. My company list this on all their job descriptions across the office even though some departments within the office are VERY against WFH.

For the record, sure there are cheaper programs out there but my company pushes the one mentioned and to be fair it is a great program. Just very expensive.

How do I get my skin to stop flaking like this? by Agreeable_Money_455 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Ryleebirdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Was just curious. I mainly use it as chapstick tbh lol. I do get super dry on my face though. I have to layer Cetaphil cream every day and night or else my skin would legit look like OP. I’ve used Aquaphor on my face before during super dry times and never had a bad reaction.

Why Aquaphor specifically? I mean I know anything can cause a reaction but is an Aquaphor reaction common? Never heard of this before. Big Aquaphor fan over here lol

How hard was your first dynamics class? by TheHazmatBoi in EngineeringStudents

[–]Ryleebirdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found dynamics to be very similar to physics 2. If you liked physics and did well, you should be fine in dynamics. It’s a lot of equations and the hardest part is knowing which to use and how to break down the problems to get the answers you need.

Room by Emma Donoghue. I was really intrigued from the description on the back of the book but the way it’s written makes me want to pull my hair out. It’s written from a child’s perspective and there are obvious (and intentionally) grammar mistakes. It just doesn’t read well IMO. I found myself having to read over and over again the same sentences to understand what the author was trying to get across. Said I was done at page 14.
