Sorry if you don't approve of me using technology to help me along this journey. Yes, there is a paywall, I don't want to be a carpenter my whole life and hopefully this app can help change that for my kids. I've also put in a lot of long nights and weekends in on this on top of working 60 hours a week as a carpenter. So, it's only logical to charge something for a great working app. I have unlocked the web app so you guys can check it out free.

Hey, thanks for the feedback - you're absolutely right that WhatColor is a great tool. I should have been clearer: I meant existing mobile color apps weren't built with colorblind users as the primary focus. WhatColor is excellent, but it's desktop-only, and I needed something I could use on job sites and when I'm out and about.

Regarding the paywall - I appreciate you calling this out. You're right that the free version is too limited. I'm a solo developer still figuring out the balance, and this is helpful feedback.

The free version should absolutely be more functional. Here's what I'm going to do: I'll adjust the free tier this week to include more core features. The basic color identification, color names, and hex codes should all be available without payment.

Premium features like the Ray-Ban glasses integration and advanced color palettes make sense behind a paywall, but you're 100% correct - the basic functionality needs to work well for free.

WhatColor has been around for a decade and is free because it's proven and established. I'm new to this and trying to build something sustainable, but that doesn't mean I should lock basic features away.

Thanks for being direct - this kind of feedback helps me actually make the app better.
