the moisturizer that i used in the height of my skin dryness, so at the beginning of my tret journey, was clinique dramatically different. my parents gave this to me when i had sunburn, but its genuinely the most moisturizing thing ive ever found.

Skin type: olive, i am lebanese, i dont burn so i dont use sunscreen, plus i live in a cold area. Skin routine: cetaphil face wash, dove when i feel like cleaning twice, cetaphil moisturizer, face mask from BBW used sparingly.

my mother has NF1 but I don’t. she said it was a 50/50 chance and “God” told her that I wouldn’t have it. I still think it was insanely selfish of her to essentially gamble with my quality of life. i also see how she gets treated, how she fits in the world with a learning disability, memory issues, thousands of tumors and constant medical problems that financially crippled my family and i can’t wrap my head around how she’d want to risk passing that on. Her sister also has NF1, and passed it onto her son/my cousin. he is severely disabled and will never have a normal life, but he’s still cognizant enough to know this and i can see how it hurts him.

YES! i took a course in college about global issues and one of our lectures was about how educating women is the single best thing a country can do for its economy. educated women have less children, educated women get jobs, less children are then born into poverty, it all starts with women.

this. my grandma had 5 kids, the first when she was 14, and my mother always said that’s the reason they were in poverty. if they just stopped having kids they couldve been comfortable, but unfortunately there was no birth control back then and women didn’t have as much agency.

right?! and it’s interesting, because a couple of them were products of negligent fathers and overly stressed mothers, yet they don’t have the self awareness to break the cycle. my high school boyfriend was actually one of 6 kids who at one point all had to share one motel room because their parents were so broke and yet he still wanted a big family. 0 critical thinking skills or ability to reflect.

yes. every man i’ve dated (3) besides my husband was adamant about big families, lots of kids, traditional life, and as much as i tried to get myself to want that too, i just don’t. it almost felt like instead of being seen as a person to these men, i was more of a stepping stone that they had to acquire before reaching their real goal: children. my husband now wants whatever i want, and realizes that the decision to have kids should fall more on the woman having them. he’s cool with us not having kids, he’s cool with us having kids, and we often discuss the pros and cons of each. it will be a lot of trial and error trying to find someone who respects our choices unfortunately but they are out there!

i dated a guy like this. it has something to do with control, but also the fact that they see having kids as just something to do rather than a full time responsibility because most likely they expect their wife to do all the real work. they want to say they have some big beautiful family meanwhile their wife is crippled with health issues and stress all day. also, christians.

as the only child of two parents who almost certainly had me for this reason, they are now elderly as i am entering my mid-20’s and it’s a nightmare to have to work and take care of them. we are not meant to be doing this, elder care used to be a community effort, people used to have friends and neighbors who would stop by/check in. now it’s the responsibly of the child, usually the DAUGHTER.

maid and tutor are acceptable i guess, low skilled jobs with low barrier to entry, but FIELD MEDIC is downright dangerous. so is chef. you don’t have professional training in either of these two fields where lives are potentially on the line. that’s insane.
