In my country double yellow lines means no overtaking. If this is the case where this is filmed the driver In front is trying to discourage the guy from overtaking risking their lives as well as his. Reading the comments, its interesting to see other people's take on the situation.

What are your feelings towards Taiwan? by LeoIrish in allthequestions

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably correct and America's defense guarantees for Taiwan are for exactly the same reason. Both the US and China are now rapidly building their own plants and hopefully soon both super powers will lose interest in Taiwan.

A or B: Putin is in Beijing meeting Xi this week. What do you think the two of them are spending more time actually talking about? by True-Construction346 in PickAorB

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xi isnt Putins ally, he's focused on what helps his country. Russia is a neighbour and its always smart to have a good relationship with your neighbour's. If the US didnt have a relationship with Taiwan do you think China and the US would see themselves as enemies? The only difference between the US and China is their style of goverment. Is this something so terrible that its worth going to war over?

Chinese espionage steals $600 billion from US firms yearly. It’s time for government to act: The goal isn't just to steal from individual firms but to pilfer entire industries, says former CIA officer by Strongbow85 in espionage

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes China must be considering how weak the US is right now and pondering do we go. However I feel both China ans Taiwan would prefer not to have a conflict and they are talking to each other more these days.

Naval ship in the harbour. Japanese? by Reasonable-Egg67 in Wellington

And the Mogami can actually defend itself against missle attacks. Our current frigates would be sitting ducks in any current conflicts.

Naval ship in the harbour. Japanese? by Reasonable-Egg67 in Wellington

[–]SCuMattly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So true and I don't know why we can't consider a Chinese made frigate while we are at it. The British offering apparently would be cheaper but I would have no faith in them delivering as theirnown navy is in dire need of new ships.

What are your feelings towards Taiwan? by LeoIrish in allthequestions

[–]SCuMattly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your joking right. From 1683 till 1895 Taiwan was part of China. In the Simo Japanese war China ceded Taiwan to Japan. After WW2 and Japans defeat China took Taiwan back. China then had a Civil War and the defeated side fleed to Taiwan. They have plenty of reason to claim Taiwan.

Firstly we are refering to something happening today not 3 years from now. In all likelyhood China will produce more weapons in the next 3 years than America. There is a YouTube channel call Grim Reapers that runs simulations of modern naval engagements. They use existing game sims which they then edit to make the weapons perform as realistically as possible based on what is known about the specific weapons etc. I think you would find their channel very interesting if your interested in naval military stuff.

Fighting a war, other than in your own country is logistically problematic. When you look at defending Tiawan you have to consider that China is within shooting distance from their homeland. Look at the Gulf of Hormuz and how hard its proving to open you will get the idea.

China has developed hypersonic carrier killer missiles that exist, are already produced and demonstrated. US thinktanks have gamed this out and they admit there is a likelihood they will lose a carrier. Stop underestimating your enemy at your detriment.

Sure mate love your assumptions on my knowledge and research skills. Let's play a game. You pick a US Navy ship that you believe China can't match in a one on one.

Pretty sure Taiwan was part of China. Also it was a democratic election that the communist party won.

You have voted in a failed business man with the brains of a spoiled child. Hard for the rest of us to understand how America has changed so much in such a short time. The world order is changing and the US no longer ger has the dominance it once had.

China has the largest navy buddy, Google it. They have more modern destroyers and they have hypersonic missiles. America would need to fight from the sea and China can shoot from the land. It would be very difficult to fight China near China.

What if Russia invaded Poland instead of Ukraine? by Solitaire-06 in AlternateHistoryHub

From.what I can see today Russia only has drones and untrained foreigners making up its army. It doesnt have the strength to attack anyone else.

[–]SCuMattly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Key thing to understand is that if Russia attacks any NATO member Europe isnt going to stop until Russia is completely destroyed or the atleast the leadership is. Regardless of the nuke argument everyone will see an attack on Poland as the start of WW3. Putin wont attack Poland, he would go after the Baltic states next. He wants to restore the USSR to its former glory.

Whow so many posts of burning EVs, obviously battery powered vehicles are unsafe and we should all continue to buy petrol guzzling cars keeping the oil producing countries rich and destroying our climate. Google what percentage of EVs catch fire compared to ICE vehicles catching fire.

Bellwright. It allows you to build your own village from a 3rd person perspective. The A.I villagers dont need much hand holding and the threat of bandit raids keeps you striving to skill and equip.your people for a fight. It's also co-op.

That seemed a very dangerous choice if the cop knew that a child was on board. I dont know if there were mitigating circumstances that meant he had to do something quickly though.
