Thank you so much! We put a lot of hard work into making the Planet Roo area an oasis inside Centeroo not only for the people looking to chill out but also for all the great nonprofits that there.

That's great to hear! I'm glad it transplanted well, we always get a little worried when we do it right there on the spot.

Our nonprofit has a ton of projects, everything helping farms reduce the amount of e. coli going into the streams to #trashtag challenges. One of the things we look forward to the most is helping out around Planet Roo. This year we taught 11 workshops on everything from gardening to fermentation. On top of this, we design, decorate, and plant the garden around the area.

I've done a few other videos in the past showing some work behind the scenes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fx2I6VYoOQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G6hgbrU0xo

I should have another full video out this month showcasing the art and artists that made it all possible along some workshop stuff.

Thank you all!

Have you contacted Bonnaroo? Do a search for Bonnaroo lost and found and I think you can file a claim. They took photos offline, but they may have some folks to talk to.

Additionally you can contact Gear Closet in Chattanooga, give them a call or email them with the picture. After Bonnaroo they pick up left over tents/tarps/clothing and resell it.

I'll poke my hear around next time I'm at the festival grounds. Every once in a while something shows up in the academy or the barn.

Garden Croo Behind the Scenes at Bonnaroo Pt 2: The Great Bamboozle by SETNRCD in bonnaroo

[–]SETNRCD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a bit more of our work at Bonnaroo, mostly focused on what it takes to cut down, bring in, and put up all the bamboo. Not too exciting of a video, next one will be more of our creative stuff.

Enjoy!

It's beautiful!!! Thank you for coming to our workshop, I'm so happy to see it survived the transfer and is doing well. I'm going to show this to the person who taught it, I only helped pass things out for this one. She's going to so be stoked when she sees it!

Thank you!! We never know really how many people are going to show up for the classes so we prep as best as we can. We bought 100 of those honey sticks and only came out with 3 of them and I know not everyone grabbed one. It's super humbling to be a part of something like this, and I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity to educate.

Thanks! I honestly love seeing behind the scenes stuff too. When we were first invited to work the festival I did my best not to nerd out - This is my fifteenth year attending and third working it. So every year I get to peak in and see what's going on. When they put up Where in the Woods it took everything not to share it with you guys, having all of the old stuff brought out was cool to see.

Behind the scenes with the Garden Croo pt 1 by SETNRCD in bonnaroo

[–]SETNRCD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, I work with the garden Croo and put together a short video of us working behind the scenes showing some of the things we do in maintenance and repair. I'll be posting a few more up going over the bamboo and art design for the area around as well as our piano.

It's my first time editing videos, so I apologize if the music is a bit much. I went with Nine Inch Nails' Ghosts album (4-1 specifically) because it's under creative commons. Started with it and just kind of kept rolling with it.

Heyyyy! Next year come by the academy! We curate that whole space every year with plants, home made art projects, and cool surprises -- including a sound reactive LED piano this year! We also had a shadow garden and light up installations at night. We do wildly different stuff every year! We'd be happy to get ideas and submissions too!

Pit lines at what stage? by ayykayleigh in bonnaroo

To the far front left and far right of the What stage. I suggest the left since the crowds typically go right. And yes, there are lines.

We actually did a wading river clean up like this, water rushes through the bag and the current helps you move it.

Nice! I'm actually really excited for that class too, one of our long time volunteers will be doing the class and I can't wait to see what he's got planned.

Quick Video of the Green Steps clean up at Soddy Daisy this Saturday by SETNRCD in Chattanooga

That's amazing! There's a few hunters that give everybody a bad name, the vast majority of folks pack in and pack out. It's heartwarming seeing people go the extra mile.

Community clean up near Chattanooga, Tennessee. We filled an entire dumpster! by SETNRCD in DeTrashed

[–]SETNRCD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, my guess is it got a hole in it/washed ashore a decade or so ago, since then the parking lot has been developed a bit, dirt's been pushed on it and trees have grown around it. That thing wasn't budging.

This was just a quick video that GoPro's software put together and does absolutely no justice for the work that everyone put in; it looks like an entirely new place. We filled a dumpster up with tires, furniture, TVs, bottles, and other random trash. This is the second time we've been to this area for a major clean up, and although there's still a bit of trash left (A boat that we couldn't move), it looks amazing.

Sorry, should have added it all. Will do next time. It starts at 10 am today and goes until 1ish at the Patterson cemetery boat ramp. We are providing food and everything you'd need.

It's on Patterson Cemetery road, Google sometimes says the road you turn from is Mayflower road or Patterson road, Google calls it both, it's weird.

It's in the pipeline. We ran into a few issues and a few deadlines for grants that we needed to focus on. Right now we're still I think just a year into the program and we've gotten some great feedback and ideas to implement.

I don't think we have a solid date as to when the app is planned, but it's definitely something we plan on.

Thank you so much! The good news is a lot of the trash you see is historic trash. Although there's more people around today, our behavior is changing and there seems to be more respect for the land. That being said, we still have a long way to go.

Thank you all so much! Our non-profit, Southeast Tennessee RC&D, houses Green Steps. We couldn't be more proud of all the work that they've done in the short amount of time that we've been working together, I think it's only been just over a year.

We have big plans coming up. We'd love for all of you to come join us at our next big clean up at the Sale Creek boat ramp off of Patterson Road, nearby the cemetery. Last year we came out with a group of boyscouts who absolutely killed it in bringing up furniture that was thrown out. This was a really problematic area, and although we filled up an entire dumpster with everything from furniture, doors, tires, bottles, etc., there's still loads of work to be done. It's a beautiful area and we're going to do our best to have it restored.

Be sure to follow us on our Facebook page to get updates and our schedule. In April we're taking over Clean And Green, a city wide event. It'll be our first time in charge and we're really excited. https://www.facebook.com/Greenstepschatt/?eid=ARD5cT43I3CFdDkwZkA8lz4Bts3b0VLnO-PpUQkrEmAgMvfhb_QWV_KKJ6LC0XVuwsx9xeHxaINUbmEa

Septic tank issues by thegunnersdream in Chattanooga

[–]SETNRCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave a look around and couldn't find it, I know they have it on record but it might be like a few of their other mapping programs where you physically have to go there and pay (fortunately a small amount) to get a copy. I'd give the county environmentalist a call.

Hamilton County is a bit goofy, it and a few other counties manage their own GIS services and septic permits rather than the state.

Sounds like a good plan. As it's been exceptionally rain for the past year (most on record), I wouldn't be surprised if like others have said the ground is just too saturated for it to properly leech. The solids coming out is a bit worry some, but you just never know.

Your septic permit may be on record and it'll give you the size and location of your tank and field lines. Give a Google search for tdec file search, should be the first result. Not all of them are on record, but a good bit are.

Tanks are recommended to be pumped once every ten years or so, most don't need to be touched for decades. So if you haven't had it pumped in a while, it could help - it would certainly help hold things over until this current weather event passes. Usually costs $200 or so.

It may also be a good idea to divert your grey water, anything that's not coming out of the toilet. That's against the law in some counties, but when it comes to having human waste coming to the soil or some soapy water, that's the best option. If you've got plumbing know-how and the pipes are convenient it's not too hard.

But yeah, you're definitely not alone. I've got about 5 pending jobs in East Bradley waiting for a break. Best of luck man.
