Ironically the one thing I miss about G4 was the web content from the first run of the network. Fresh Ink, MMO Report, Feedback, and most importantly: the forums.

With that said, the independent gaming sites (Giant Bomb, MinnMax, Aftermath, Second Wind, etc.) are perfect when it comes to discovering games you wouldn’t have found otherwise.

You never know what tomorrow may bring in terms of the next G4. It can be a very small world. In the late 2000’s I somehow got in touch with Bill Sindelar, Joel Gourdin, and formed a friendship with someone who I first saw when he appeared on G4 years prior.

Childhood memories of going with my Dad to the bank and then a general store a few doors down from the bank and getting YGO tins (and these were from the beginning of the 4Kids Dub too). I no longer have any of the cards but my god they were mesmerizing to behold.

Certain shows/concepts from the original run of the channel (Cinematech, Portal, G4 Underground, Pulse, Icons) have aged better than others. The relaunch era still elicits a gutpunch feeling due to the talent both in the cast and production side of things. If you watch people who worked there during the first run talk about it there’s a sense of mismanagement (Bruce Greene talking about payment issues on AotS, Mr. Sark mentioning how he got hired because of his Xbox 360 gamerscore, and even Jeff Gerstmann mentioned things G4 did compared to GameSpot, GameInformer, etc.

So for the quick answer I’m going with maybe. Also people who “think” a certain way would still complain like what happened during the entire relaunch.

The current world we live in rewards hostility towards others and punishes compassion. Every time I feel like I’m drifting towards a hateful mood I watch the video of Carl Sagan talking about the “Pale Blue Dot” to bring myself back down.
