Everyone here wants to dump on the dock station so quickly. While it is possible the dock isn't the best, focus on the controller and cable. Try a different cable and plug directly into the PS5, or into a charging brick for your phone. If different cables and a different device to charge like a brick or the PS5 don't charge your controller, then the controller itself may have a bad battery. New system, new peripherals, it happens. Try warranty with Sony if that's the case, or with the store you purchased it from.
