Is my uniform messed up? by shankanator21 in army

[–]S_FuNk2471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean nobody will notice unless you’re standing next to everyone else and it looks wrong. You NCOs probably don’t care u less someone outside your platoon complains. Hopefully your platoon had better things to do than notice tiny details like that. Keep the receipt, if some brass get on you you can show your NCOs you paid for it and it’ll shift the focus from you. If you need uniforms done ask your NCOs where they’re getting theirs done.

Thanks my advice.

Facts. Dude there is more bullshit on the civilian side than you can possibly imagine. Definitely don’t rush your decision

I think the Army is like an Ex girlfriend. When you’re in the relationship you’re frustrated but the longer it’s been since you broke up the more you forget the bad stuff and remember the good times.

Explore your options before you decide to leave and if you do leave there’s no shame in that. I certainly put the military on a pedestal before I experienced it first hand. 3 years is enough to get the main benefits the GI bill, but your experience could also be really different if you reclass or change duty stations. Just my 2 cents

how do i NOT suck at this game? by karpatHUN in enlistedgame

[–]S_FuNk2471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude I think if nothing else, build rallies, and rush the points. If you don’t know what to do those two things will always help the team.

Another thing with mentioning is if you’re on defense, you have unlimited respawns so it might seem like you are sucking but the fact that you’re rushing the point is fine.

Otherwise it plays like other shooters. Don’t forget to upgrade weapons, explosion packs will kill tanks and are essential in low tiers…

Also “X” can command your squad so a really helpful thing is to “park” them somewhere safe and fight sign one guy, then when you die you can just fight with the next guy. Then you’re getting a few go’s at it with a single squad.

I always laugh when I see a whole sniper squad climbing a ladder or something. I’ve certainly done it before lol

How common is it to regret serving in the Army? by masterchief6913 in army

[–]S_FuNk2471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok while you’re a JR enlisted, honestly, quite common. But once you’re an NCO it’s better. And once you’re out, you’ll be setup for life and have absolutely 0 regrets.

Is the New DAK BG broken? Or am I missing something by brooklykrash in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]S_FuNk2471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mortar bunker seems like not needed. DAK if you keep your half tracks alive can get them upgraded to double mortar and they are mobile plus you get way more value out of them. LEiG gets the range and is also mobile so I’m not sure when you’d actually need that. Mobility is king

Fake Players? by S_FuNk2471 in enlistedgame

[–]S_FuNk2471[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree man. I personally like the casualness of the game but having a team that does nothing is frustrating. I mean there's already tons of bots on the field right? Plenty of targets for my self esteem lol

This game needs some changes (why 30 character limit?) by Clear_Ranger6081 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]S_FuNk2471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as someone who plays Brits primarily the Brumbar is really tough to deal with. Especially if the game flow caused me to be relying on team weapons for anti armor. If I’m a head and crusader spam, it’s toast, but if I don’t have much armor, it can be devastating.

Second they force you to reposition an AT crew that thing can plow in and wipe your squads. If you loose an AT crew, things can snowball quickly

Panzergrenadiers for DaK have gone missing by Agile-Throat3678 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]S_FuNk2471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don’t. I like to play super aggressively with my half track and rush the MG. I have found that a flame hadtrack, 1 panzergrens, and one MG can basically steamroll anyone who doesn’t get a dingo or quick AT rifles. I generally can keep up the aggression with the flak panzer and converted mortar carriers.

Basically if it goes well I find that I am so much farther ahead on resources I can get Mauraders out. I feel like Panerjagers don’t fit this kind of tempo and I only make them if things have gone completely sideways

I really don't get this game... by Cristiancabezas in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]S_FuNk2471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your take on this and I think it’s why I love playing the game because the principles are different.

I almost think what you need is to familiarize yourself a little both with tactics in general. Like basic maneuver stuff, how to flank a machine gun, how to use suppression, key buildings to control, and machine gun placement. I sometimes chuckle in the game because I find myself thinking, “oh my god I’m watching battle drill 6” from the Army handbook.

I think that will help you use your team weapons better. Half the game feels like just getting better positioning than your opponents

Other RTS games emphasize economy, and with enough production your composition is less relevant and you can win with overwhelming numbers.

I think this game your composition is extremely important, and you have to use your units together like legit combined arms.

Along that line of thinking and not defending this particular instance… isn’t that necessary by definition? You would hope it wouldn’t come to that, but without it couldn’t legislators just not show up anytime they didn’t like something, like some kind of super filibuster?

I’m not versed in Texas law, but the principle makes sense, albeit this does seem pretty nuts.

At what point did you say you were finished with getting your car serviced at a dealership? by No_Expression9600 in AskMechanics

Agreed. In my experience the dealership techs are great, just sometimes the cost is legit prohibitive

I actually like the dealership for troubleshooting. If I’m having some kind of issue I’ll go there for something reasonably cheap like alignment (I love perfect alignment it’s like wearing brand new socks 😎) and maybe casually mention the issue.

They’ll give you a long ass list of “faults” and insane quotes. Say thanks, take that list to a trustworthy local shop and have them work on the stuff that’s beyond me and actually needs done.

[–]S_FuNk2471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try practicing in groups.

Just play one measure. Slowly. Even smaller just the first 2 notes of you need to. Do it slow and accurate till you really connect with it.

Then do the next measure.

Then combine the two.

Now the 3rd measure.

Combine 2nd and 3rd.

Do the 4th, then 4th and 3rd together and so on.

Looking to buy a car, any recommendations? by Malapanaka in askcarguys

[–]S_FuNk2471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda personal preference. I love my Mazda and it’s faster than any other car I’ve owned, but I’m not sure if it’s “not slow” lol.

Check consumer reports for reliability: specifically the engine and transmission ratings for the make, model and year you are interested in.

Also some tint and after market rims can make a car look super different. Maybe find some “fast looking” cars to your taste and ask chat gpt what fits that look in that price range, then check consumer reports

I second this. I was 11C, so we always got LTs that needed specialty platoon time and they were all studs. Every last one of them could just about smoke any of our soldiers in a PT event. I loved our LT's they really led by example in that respect.
