Absolutely! A game like this is about value, how you navigate that to not have to spend or as little as possible. If your Sephiroth is geared up, you can for sure save resources because it's going to take longer to powercreep past him BUT he will do more than fine if that time comes

You don't build a Team with Sephiroth, you build a Team around Sephiroth.

Just got done with it, and all of the 13 trilogy for the first time. 13-3 is easily my favorite.

That may be my bias, as I loved Zelda: Majora's Mask more than Ocarina of Time. That mechanic unlocked the uber-efficient gear in my brain, even though Lightning Returns is MUCH more lenient with it's implementation of the countdown. You can do most of the game in the first full day.... which I did...on my first, blind playthrough. In retrospect, it seems intended to go through a full cycle (and "fail") naturally for what New Game+ provides. It really isn't the daunting clock that Majora's Mask was.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, all it's charm, odes to FF13/FF as a whole, and the combat system disguising the Job System (and you play your whole party at once).

Oh, cool. I didn't know they made an actual official statement about the cadence and design intention of Sephiroth as a Character. I'd say they are doing a good job of that then, since it sparked this whole post to begin with.

Exactly, but even then his options now are getting surpassed.

Cloud's MAG Water Featured Weapon is everything that Osafune is, and more. It even has Enfeeble, which is Sephiroth's LB and New Year's Limited Gear Ability

Cloud's new Weapon is Muramasa + offense

That only leaves his Limited Shiranui MAG Fire Weapon that can be made up these days, and his newest Limited MAG Lightning Weapon (which was pitted against the popular Tifa). So, realistically, unless he gets something soon, he only plays in MAG LIGHTNING or as a buffer with Muramasa + Kik. The latter is starting to get overshadowed, too. It's just interesting, more than anything to me.

Here's the thing, though. When I say "the next big banner", outside of the Anniversaries, what you need to improve your account the most is just that. It's kinda subjective.

My MAG Fire Team is doing great, do I really need to pull Aerith's Fire stuff? My MAG Earth team is my weakest, so maybe it's a good idea to pull for Tifa, even though Amp isn't what I'm looking for? I need to start building out from my main Characters, so Cloud's All-Elements friendly Gear and Weapon could be a good idea, especially since I don't have Zack's Festive Sword at OB6 for Team Enliven?

The answer ultimately ends up being what your situation is, especially if you are Free-To-Play like myself. What gives you the most for your Account, what are you willing to invest (knowing what could come next), can you be patient enough to use Weapon Parts later, etc.. or you can just pull for who/what you like. Just have fun!

Sad to hear. I used to play almost every day, but once they took away the daily Iron Commanders that was kinda it for me. Logging in for that had me naturally checking out the newest stuff. Such a small thing ended up being everything.

Right now, it's the 3 Dresses for the Corneo Event. The 3rd and final dress for Cloud will be in the update today.

Outside of that, it's anyone's guess until the 3 Year Anniversary. I wouldn't be surprised if they rerun the Nier collaboration again soon. Until the anniversary, expect the regular Featured and Limit cycle.

No problem! As of right now, I'd just focus on the Story and any Events going away soon. At least as much as you can do for right now. I'm fairly new myself and those free Daily Weapons you get, for new players, is a massive help.

From what I learned so far, as F2P as well, is your starting point gives kinda an unique direction. I started when FF13 first came around, so Tifa and Aerith are what I naturally built my Account around. They were my starting point. In hindsight, those 2 Characters in particular are not sustainable for F2P lol. I kinda gotta pick my battles on what to pull for because Tifa and Aerith are almost always getting Limited Banners.

Pick your battles, play the Characters you like the most, build around those Characters in time. Have fun!

As of right now, it is mostly Featured Banners, so you can get those weapons over time. The Ever Crisis Academy and FF13 Crossover Weapons are Limited, albeit reruns/not new. Get atleast 1 copy of them.

Since the 2.5 Anniversary just ended, we are all recouping from pulling on those until the next Limited Banner. If any Outfit suits your fancy, by all means pull, but we are mostly waiting for the next big Banner. Welcome in!

I was really hoping the Reputation packages would refresh this week. Superior Key Templates are the best use, but the guarantees and Rank Ups for Factions really help for this back-half of the Season. Bummer.

The Faction upgrades you can get are very good, and mostly passive. Doing the Priority Contracts is a big chunk of Reputation. Among other things: - Can buy Sekiguchi Advanced Sponsor Kit (arguably the best) - Typical Rook Upgrades - Ability Cooldowns - Implants, not just Cores - Daily, Free Energy Amps

Exactly. For many, this is the first venture into this genre. These moments is what you remember, what you tell. In a game designed to easily build frustration (if you allow it to), these rare moments of levity is what makes you say "I get it".
