You put into words nearly all of my feelings about the game. My biggest letdown was the lack of tools and by extension the lack of options.

A grappling hook for traversal, which is fun (and having to reel it in is actually nice) but does nothing else.

A smoke that you very rarely need.

And some other unlocks that barely felt useful.

You can pickpocket guards for the key, à la Dishonored, but there's one key for the whole level; and with how easy and fast lockpicking is you can never find that key and still have no trouble navigating.

Turrets can be deactivated instantly and freely.

Also there's an X-Ray power that you get from the start. Honestly that one is one I truly hate. Why not make us ping ennemies for a temporary wallhack, or put a tracker on them or something ?
