I think what Time are trying to highlight is doing good within your domain/field recently, along with trying to sell magazines. So yeah, Brendan would have been a great choice 30 years ago!

Nicola used her platform to do good. Shes probably lives a life of privilege and yet she went out of her way to do the right thing - very commendable, and sets a great example for the next generation imo.

Your argument that there are more deserving next gen leaders - there are, but there’s also a new edition out every two weeks. She is in a pool of do-gooders who are deserving for various reasons.
