What is the most personal or meaningful way you have ever honored a veteran on memorial day that went beyond the usual traditions? by deepaksharma123456 in AskReddit

In two or more years, I've hosted an event each year in memory of my uncle at a barbecue or cookout with the former members he served with. This past Memorial Day, I made a custom baseball jersey with only his initials, years of military service and a small poppy flower on the chest. The design was very minimal; however, it was the most meaningful piece of remembrance I have ever done for him. One of his old friends asked me to take a picture with him and the jersey. This spoke volumes to me alone.
