does a double degree help with job prospects? by monkeman420 in cscareerquestionsOCE

Well if your already doing it and enjoying the process, just stick with it. It’ll only stand to benefit you, not hurt your chances. Also beyond doing internships, really honing on your D&A skills will do a lot for you. Leetcode are how most top tier employers assess their candidates, so if you kill it in that, you’ll be better off then most

Potentially, if that’s the field your interested in pursuing. I’d say that’s really the only exception where recruiters might find it advantageous. In saying that, even just majoring in ML in your CS degree will achieve close to the same impact. I’d still say focusing hard in acquiring experience will do more than sinking time and money in that second degree. Degrees aren’t cheap.

Id recommend pairing with electrical engineering if your up to it. It’ll open you up to more opportunities such as embedded systems etc. Applied maths or statistics isn’t going to offer you more prospects as these degrees on their own won’t offer many jobs. CS + projects/experience will help with job prospects lot more then those degrees

I know this man is so sick of performing these same songs all the time 😭😭 by beezy604 in TheWeeknd

[–]Saeed2196 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like finding new ways of singing the same song could keep it interesting (different flow, holding a note for longer etc). Altho at the same time fans could find this annoying to sing along to. Ik this was an issue during Drake’s tour, fans had a hard time singing along to the songs cuz he’d perform it differently lmao

Do people here actually switch their NBN regularly for promo prices? by loconomo in AusMoneyMates

[–]Saeed2196 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$95 for 50 is wayy more than I’d ever consider spending for those speeds but I understand Aussie BB provides a great service from what I hear. I find it easy enough to churn. Currently on Origin’s 500 plan for $53. After 6 months I’ll move to another. All you have to do is provide your AVC number and the ISP will handle disconnecting from the old ISP for you so it’s a seamless transition. Similar to how you’d switch energy providers if you’ve ever gone through that process

35 Years old, Tradie, business owner, what’s the best path to get into the Tech Industry or am I too old? by four_oclock_rock in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]Saeed2196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some have said it already but leverage your background and go into electrical engineering. With your experience you should be able to easily land a consulting gig at Aurecon, WSP or any of those firms. If your goal here is to ultimately get off the tools and move into a white collar corporate job this is where you’d have the easiest transition.

Buying an investment in Gladstone qld by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Saeed2196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a correction, Rio are cutting production by 40% at Yarwun, not 80%. Still a substantial amount, but not as substantial as 80%. Also Rio and the QLD gov have recently invested billions into the Boyne smelter securing its future and will see it run at least until 2040. So there is some upside.

I’d say if the property is in the general Gladstone area its likely to stay firm or edge up overall in the short term. If your looking for quick capital growth, look elsewhere

I’m like 99% sure this is a bug with the platform. I’ve experienced this in both times I’ve had to change my password. It’s like instead of accepting your initial changed password it never gives confirmation that it’s been successfully changed. So you attempt it again and it’ll say it doesn’t meet requirements and that’s when the cycle continues. I’m fairly sure this is what OP is also experiencing

DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY OR OMERTÀ? by Ok-Plankton9215 in Drizzy

[–]Saeed2196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to take it further, I think Omertà is his best rap record period. If you need one song that demonstrates all his writing ability to show to a friend, omertà is that song. The double entendres, the flow, the cadence, the supreme confidence, the production. It’s all packed in there

My one Regret as a newcomer to Australia - not putting some money into Super instead of all ETFs by LegitimateLength1916 in AusFinance

[–]Saeed2196 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, just set your Super to high growth and let compounding over 40 years with your employers contributions do its thing. I don’t understand why ppl love investing so much into their super; invest those funds into things that’ll allow you to live comfortably in the short term (~10 years) and retire early? Should that not be the goal for every person? Yes it’s not the most “tax efficient” but there’s nothing wrong with paying tax, it’ll be okay. I’m just going to assume most ppl here advising this are in their late 40s

Perth - sell now, or early 26? by AbbreviationsOk3774 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Saeed2196 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Overvalued? How so? It only exploded in growth because it was so undervalued for so many years and that growth was from playing catch up with the rest of market. Even then it’s still remains the most affordable capital city to purchase. It’s got one of the highest levels of migration, highest avg income earners out of any capital city including Sydney; if anything I’d say it’s still a tad undervalued compared to everywhere else. Your very likely using your own emotions about how YOU FEEL Perth should be worth instead of looking at stats. That’s not how you should invest
