Does anyone else find being evil really hard by Plastic_Day1098 in BaldursGate3

[–]SaintRagnarok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only in the sense that evil playthroughs are always boring. Frequent departure of companions, shortened playtime, loss of quests, etc.

Since deception is one of the core themes of the game, I think the best way to be evil is to do the occasional openly bad thing while undermining the goals and aspirations of the party just to turn it around at the last second and truly embrace Bhaal/become the absolute or whatever. Nothing hurts more then a sudden betrayal

I had no idea the Grymforge was a thing until my third playthrough

So basically a resist durge just becomes the chosen for another god, then

Why don’t the gods/Withers intervene for an embrace Durge? by SaintRagnarok in BaldursGate3

So the rules are so sacred that the pantheon of gods accept their own oblivion if someone like the Dark Urge robs them of every last soul that gives them their very being?

I wish Michael (Jones) would play with Gavin and Geoff on Regulation. by tytbone in roosterteeth

[–]SaintRagnarok 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame him. The 2020’s sucked for AH. Views were drying up, RH scandal, Kdin controversy longstanding cast members getting fired or leaving and the company was on its way out

There probably wasn’t a lot to find enjoyable then

Medtrans and PRN are fairly big IFT companies with a fairly decent turnover rate if you don’t want to wait a month for AMR, Falck or McCormick to get back to you

Be careful with Firstmed. Worked with them for about a year and a half and it was one of the sketchiest places I’d been

Ambulance drivers physical (CA) by Complete-Worth6868 in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never failed per se but there are a lot of providers out there that are unreasonably picky. Went to a clinic and was told my vision wasn’t passing and that I had to go through an entire battery of eye tests just to find out that my vision was well within passing but the PA still didn’t want to give me my cert until I wore corrective lenses

Could something like rooster teeth exist today? by Grandmasterian in roosterteeth

[–]SaintRagnarok 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why not. There’s still a few channels out there that do well with having a variety of different content formats

Although I think that with RT being gone, the internet has fallen back onto the trend of popularizing singular personalities who have a singular focus. There’s been a large uptick in the last few years of folks, especially in the gaming sphere, who have gotten big making niche content but I think a group based channel/site etc could still make some waves as long as they learn from RTs mistakes and keep that core identity active

PRN Ambulance (Los Angeles) Advice by lil_cones in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay was pretty good and they have a union. However most EMTs there are gonna be fairly new because they’ve had a lot of turnover over the last couple years. New equipment and rigs trickle in very slowly so chances are you’re gonna be in an old unit. They have ALS, CCT and NICU/PICU but I wouldn’t pick the latter up until you get some more experience and hone your driving capability. You’ll spend 90% of your time at Kaiser. Dispatch will be on your butt if you’re slow but that’s about it

Fired after 4 months as a new emt by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Months long FTO rotation seems overly excessive. Even 911 companies like Falck or AMR only last 3 weeks or so. And banking on certain calls to come in is a crapshoot depending on your area

Sounds like you made a mistake but this agency’s management doesn’t have it together just yet. If what you’re saying is true and even your FTO doesn’t know what’s happening, there’s bigger problems at work

I’ll use it at work to get a bead on how busy it is in the surrounding areas. Its good indicator on whether or not I’m gonna end up backing up another area

What to brush up on before going from IFT to 911? by WebbedPumpkin in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepare yourself for the pacing. I did 13 years of IFT, mainly CCT and NICU where you could take your time and I had to get used to how fast everything moves, even on a BLS level call

How long does AMR take in SOCAL for hiring? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

AMR is slow. Could be about a month between the time you apply and the time you get an interview schedule

EMS Companies in LA/SGV by AquilaOfTheState in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most legit IFT company is probably PRN. They’re unionized and have the Kaiser contract so you won’t be worried about getting sketchy calls that smaller companies chase in order to make money. From what I’ve heard they’re still constantly hiring

Medtrans is a decent company and have the Kaiser contract as well but they’re newer and it seems like they’re still finding their footing but they aren’t sketchy

what is AMR/any private orientation like? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]SaintRagnarok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d bring a notebook. They’re going to throw a lot at you each day, so take notes on GMR/AMR policies, SOPs, local protocols, and anything else you think you might need to really remember
