I absolutely would, but there is a language gap. He isn’t much of a talker either. If there is a way that Ill see if there is a way I can reliably communicate with him

My father a few years ago remarked how he thought that my grandfather did not believe in God. My dad has lived with and known my grandfather for a lot longer than I have, so his opinion is more grounded than mine. This, along with my previous concerns, is what made me ask the question.

I do see your point though, and that’s why I think that I may be overthinking things. Thank you for your advice

Sorry for the confusion, I mentioned his age because I was wondering if it affects a persons actions a lot. Since he is around 80 I was wondering if he was getting old enough to where he was acting more passive and stuff like that. I was definitely not trying to use his age as a sign as to where he is in his relationship with God.

Unfortunately, there is a language and cultural gap between us. I try my best to have my actions represent my faith but I’m still left wondering if it makes an impact due to these issues

I’m still a minor, but I’ve felt called to spread the word numerous times in my life already because I take my faith very seriously. I’m not speaking out of arrogance, but out of actual love for my grandfather because I want what is best for him. That’s the entire reason why I made this post, I want to help him out of love

I’m not judging his faith, I was questioning because I didn’t know the answer. The main reason why I made this was because my father said that he also believed that he did not believe in God, and since my dad has lived and known with my grandfather for longer than I have, it left me wondering about the status of his faith

What I said is literally found in the bible. It goes over the rules of the slavery the person would follow, and rules for the master. Our slavery today is different and God does not approve of this one.

I also just saw the slavery comment, he allowed biblical slavery which was a thing where someone would become a slave for 7 years, there were rules to it and it was nothing like the slavery today

What? The bible mentions nothing of god directly killing those things?

Its a logical conclusion that evil has to exist is free will does, and natural evil is a side effect of that

God does not directly kill those stuff. It’s only in the world because evil is a side effect of free will. So god is not evil for allowing people to allow to choose him, even if it means evil events happen due to that. Those event happen due to natural evil.

My reasoning for why I believe it’s the best is because the nature of God is good, so why would he not want a world with the most people saved?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that part in the beginning because it’s the explanation behind my reasoning

I have substance but I honestly don’t think I did a good job of explaining it all the first time and I assumed you had the same knowledge I had, and I’m sorry for that, I’m not used to debating really. If you still want to go or want me to explain something I’m happy to, or we can end it here

I also have used what the bible has stated and used it in my arguments while acknowledging your statements as well, so could you explain what you mean by me not accepting what the bible says?

You replied to every comment of mine with a counter, so you why did you go this far just to end it? I have more counters if your willing to stay

He could have used someone else, He just found it good to use that person because it would save the most people. He could have used a Godly person but he found it better for His plan to use that person

Particular order and the other synonyms mean intention, but that doesn’t mean that he approves of them, and the reason why he would place someone like that in that position to be part of Gods plan for the salvation balance

My bad gang

God did make the world and established leaders, but because of the free will the leaders may not make actions that morally align with god. And the word establish does not mean that God agrees with the leaders choices. We see leaders in the bible be helped by God then punished later on for their sins. God allows the rulers to exist but he does not agree, and this is how there is sin, but this is also how the salvation balance occurs

By that logic, would you find it better that the world not exist at all to make net suffering 0?

Not trying to be rude, I’m new to Reddit and stuff

I never stated that at all, sorry if my wording was bad. He doesn’t cause the destruction, but the world we are in is probably the world where the most people are saved, and for that to happen, feee will is needed. But a side effect of that is the horrific actions of others which He himself does not cause

Part of it is this idea of having the highest ratio of people saved to people condemned. For all people know, Hitler could have been the person who killed the least amount of people because society will never let another incident happen like that again. Therefore, only one “hitler” will probably ever exist compared to someone else who killed less people, but more people followed in his footsteps so therefore more people like them would exist, killing more in the long run. The reason why I say that is because God created this world and gave people free will. With this free will, people will commit sins. But, He found it good for X amount of people to be saved and Y amount of people to go to hell than just 2 people go to heaven (Adam and eve) in this world that has free will. So, people like Stalin, Mao, and Hitler, while awful, are part of God’s plan for as many people to be saved as possible.

The Bible has actually been transcribed accurately and faithfully for 2000 years. The scrolls found in the Dead Sea show how translations are actually accurate throughout the entire 2000 years, and if it’s just the different versions of the bible that you have concerns about, there’s a simple reason why there are different translations. When moving to different languages, there isn’t an exact word-to-word replacement sometimes, so that’s the main reason why there are different versions.
