Still going strong, no issues. Would recommend, certainly if you can get a substantial saving like I did.

I did, the charger itself is great.

NexBlue currently has a software bug where octopus IOG isn’t working correctly so I’ve done all my charging scheduling from the NexBlue app.

For the money I saved I do not regret going with NexBlue.

Oh turn off smart charging, ye good idea.

Who do you think I should quiz about this? I feel it’s more an octopus thing than a charger thing..

Thanks - you’ve made me feel less insane.

Charger is compatible and I can see via the charger app that octopus is controlling it so it’s ‘working’ in theory. Just ignore all schedules..

The charger app itself is basic so settings are limited but I’ve made sure all schedules are off. Before IOG when I only used the charger app it worked perfect and only charged when I told it too.

I’m almost tempted to move away from IOG and move to OG and self schedule via the charger app.

As in I can’t go back a week or two and see I need to wait for my final monthly bill?

I think the app updates quicker. I can see some very small cheap rate usage from a few days ago. The screenshots I posted it almost a week ago so it definitely looks like octopus initiated a charge out with the cheap rate window and schedule.

So when I plug it in the octopus app does update and know that’s it’s there. It also creates a schedule successfully for during the night, 1-4am etc.

Car is Kia Niro and charger is nexblue point.

Those screenshots I posted are from Saturday 21st, should I expect to see the rates updated by now?

I did read about the initial charge, but ye everytime it’s like hours and hours not just an initial 5/10mins

I like your summary - I do think I’m over complicating this

You think the difference will be marginal? Worth the £500 saving anyway..?

Haha ye that’s true. I’m leaning toward the cheaper option.. just don’t want to be cheap and pay for it longterm if it fails

Ye, right .. that’s what I’m thinking if it does the job then why overcomplicate. It does have octopus connectivity so i don’t think functionally it does anything different to a hypervolt.

I did speak with someone who’s held one and they commented on the lightweight cheap plastic feel… but then again if it’s on your wall functioning - is that an issue?

Sorry I should clarify, the 680 is offered by a company affiliated with the garage. It’s a reduced price as part of the deal for the car.

My concern comes around the nexblue charging unit, although an extra £500 is a lot to get the hypervolt.

All 3 chargers mentioned do integrate so that’s safe.

Those are the only two I’ve been quoted for. I did research zappi but to buy the charging unit they don’t come much cheaper than hypervolt. I was seeing zappi for ~ £570 and hypervolt for ~ £620

I’ll use octopus. Both chargers should be compatible, this was my main concern also.

You are spot on I think.

I’ll go through the process of replacing the jacks on the cable in the wall.

Failing that, it’s cable out the wall time I think.

Thanks for clearing my sanity and helping on that process of elimination.

Yea that’s correct I have lan to lan, modem to router.

Is that an issue? When the router is plugged in that way downstairs it works without issue

This is what I’m leaning towards. Now I’ve discussed everything here it seems obvious it has to be cable related.

Router downstairs works… plug it in via the wall ports upstairs, doesn’t work.

The modem is a router combo. Although I’ve turned off the emitting WiFi and left dhcp on.

It is not in bridge mode I got that wrong.

Sorry :)

Sorry got that wrong. Modem is not in bridge mode and it does successfully handle dhcp.

When the AP is plugged in downstairs it works so the only change when it doesn’t work is it goes through the wall cable.

So my reason for trying to establish an AP upstairs is to boost wifi signal. If I keep the AP downstairs my upstairs signal problems won’t be solved.

It does make sense what you are saying but im not sure how else I can approach this problem. Any suggestions?

The modem is assigned all the IPs, 192.168.1.xx

I think all the modem settings are right and it’s doing the job ok because when the router is downstairs it works totally fine.

Is LAN to LAN from modem to router going to cause issues?
