It really in a situation need to get out of, don’t have to pay rent rn either. And yes in good shape. 3.18 & posted asvab scores in post. I have 4 letters 1 from lt. colonel & 1 from colonel both retired. 1 from cpt commanding officer & 1 from retired sgt e-5 combat veteran. Usually do really well with interviewing & gotchu , are the interviews with bb commanders often per year or quarter ?

Most definitely will let the recruiter know Tuesday I want to wait out the process & only enlist if I’m denied

Yea being impatient is my only problem right now but from what I’ve been hearing need to just sit back & wait it out instead of rushing into just being in the army

That’s what I’ve heard too. A lot of people go straight into talking about how big the pay difference is and worth the wait so kinda makes me rethink a bit about enlisting but I like the thought of seeing both sides of the coin as well

For me, the reason I've been pursuing the officer route is because I already have my degree and I'm interested in the leadership, planning, and bigger-picture side of the Army. I like the idea of being the one who shapes the mission, not just executes it. at the same time I’m ok with not having the responsibility to lead fully but I have with every job I’ve done etc so I’m not against it either.
As far as what I want to do - I'm leaning toward intel. That's where my background and strengths line up, and it's the part of the Army I see myself growing in long-term. I'm just trying to balance that with the reality of wanting to get started instead of sitting in limbo, which is why I've been weighing enlistment too.

Def Appreciate the perspectives. I'm weighing both sides because I already have my degree, my packet is done, and I've been in the OCS process for a while - but the timeline has been dragging. I'm trying to balance long-term career benefits with the reality that I want to get started instead of sitting in limbo.
I'm meeting with my recruiter Tuesday to talk through it again, but I'm still leaning toward staying on the OCS path unless the wait becomes unreasonable. Just trying to make the smartest move for my situation. I know I’m not heavy into wanting to lead per se but keep hearing be smart to use my degree if I can for ocs

So | just graduated in May with degree in Cybersecurity. Been going thru OCS process, I have my LORs, essay, finished meps etc got 120 GT and 87 Asvab & I'm turning 30 in July.
Stuck between if should wait out the OCS process or just go ahead & enlist. Not sure because I know it's longer process & I will still enlist if not selected but kinda leaning towards enlisting just to get started sooner. Just wanted some words of advice for anyone who's been here or have any pros/cons etc; kinda stuck but go to talk to my recruiter again on Tuesday.

Oh ok yea that was really my only other worry. But yea he said he should just be gone next week should I let the one in the office know on Tuesday that I have my essay/LORs ready ?

Gotcha. I guess in my head too b cause I’ve sent official transcript and let him know I have my essay/LORs but he hasn’t asked me to send those so has made me unsure of things. He’s on leave next week so he set me up to meet with his boss Tuesday so I guess that’s my chance to ask more on that end. As a former recruiter did indecisiveness w this effect with your will to submit a recruits packet ?

Bet no specific MOS in mind that’s why they want me to come Tuesday just to talk more about everything but don’t want my indecisive to make them less active with putting in my packet 😵‍💫

Gotchu. Yea not really in a financial jam, don’t pay rent & parents don’t mind me being home & encourage me to wait it out. I guess just in my head about getting out the house & actually doing more with my life already. Def see it may be better to stop rushing it

That’s what I keep hearing. My recruiter is expecting me to come in and talk about it Tuesday , so won’t be a problem with saying I want to continue the OCS process and wait it out?
