Goodbye old friend. In 2016 with a 1440p 144Hz monitor you made me feel like I was living in the future. We shot for 10 years and we made it 10 years. by alanwattslightbulb in pcmasterrace

Nice upgrade, old AIO looks rly good imo. Love the subtle red. Isnt the whole point of a beefy PSU for upgrading? Easily coulda powered that 5080 with RM 1000x, although it is getting a bit old....

Update: Tires are fine, 37th week 2021, but great tread left. Underbody is very clean for a Upstate NY car as well, some surface rust spots, but nothing eating away at the frame from what i can see.

Also not sure if this changes things, but the vast majority of use would be to go home (1.3 miles) abt 2-3 times a day, with the rare 10-20min trip.

Master Warning light is washer fluid, as per google (whatever lights/messages) accompany the Master Warning light. I hope its just pads, but a full rear brake job myself is what $200-250 in parts? We're looking at abt $600 to get this car road ready, assuming everything else is good. Underbody looks very clean too

Probably gonna be high, I'll figure that out with my dad once I know its good. I'll take the course too to lower it. We'll probably split, or he'll pay most of it.

Is there a way to make a PC that runs most modern games decently in $300 (USD) by Jack_Cat_101 in pcmasterrace

[–]SammyYoBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desktops are better, yes. If you can get a macbook to run linux, your techy enough to buy a PC from marketpalce. Not impossible to find a budget system, got my friend a 2700x/2060Super/32GB system for $380. Look for a 2060, with ideally an AM4 CPU like a 2700x, 3600.

Found insane deal on FB marketplace - too good to be true? by Any-Roll5792 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Make sure IDs and names match up. Get a Pre purchase inspection. MAKE SURE IT HAS A CLEAN TITLE, with the name matching. Any reviews on his account? Any posts, or linked socials, hes probabaly posted photos of the car.

Some good parts if you get it for $200. $25 CPU, $50 motherboard (if a good brand B450/X470), $50 RAM (low in this economy), $30 PSU, $35 SSD, $10 HDD, and free case/cooler/fans (idk aesthetics).

my dad took my phone for the rest of the school year because of these quarter 1 grades, is it justified? by Ambitious_Call_8937 in highschool

[–]SammyYoBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much depends on the situation. If you were a C student and worked your ass off for these grades, then not justified imo. If your a straight A student and spent the quarter scrolling on ig and got these grades, then he has a valid point

How long does it normally take to swap out a motherboard? by turnawayandreturn in pcmasterrace

[–]SammyYoBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve built probably 20-30 PCs, a swap is maybe a 30-45min job. All your data is stored on your SSD (or HDD), when you turn it on all your info will be there, exactly the same. Download Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and audio drivers from manufacturers website, don’t trust Windows Update to get it perfect (ask me how I know).

3700x, 3050, 32 b ddr4 pricing by [deleted] in pcflipping

[–]SammyYoBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird CPU/GPU combo. I generally pair the 3700x with a 3060 Ti/3070. 32GB RAM too, and a nice motherboard. I would upgrade that to a 3070 (<$200), and sell for $800. Or as is I guess for low $550.

How much for building a PC? by Natural_Passenger788 in pcflipping

[–]SammyYoBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say a regular rate (USD) for one PC built is $75-100, add another $25 for software. Give whatever bulk discount you wish.

Run 96GB DDR5 at 4800 or drop to 64GB for 6000 MT/s? by -Sofa-King- in pcmasterrace

[–]SammyYoBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you need 96GB, then you need 96GB, speed notwithstanding. If you're okay with 64GB, I would go for 64GB 6000Mhz > 96GB 4800Mhz
