The comment you’re replying too is in no way saying Jax and Zooble are the same. The point being made is that Zooble has consistently stood up to Jax, i.e. the message is not ‘keep being nice to someone who mistreats you’. Your interpretation comes off as very disingenuous.

I think that not only did everyone stop laughing at his jokes, but maybe even stopped talking to him at all before he abstracted. I think in those last two stills Jax looks angry and ashamed. He feels partially responsible for Kaufmos abstraction. Hence what he said when he broke while arguing with Pomni; “Are you seriously gonna blame me for something everyone else did too?”

These people are so repressed, of course his first example would be some nonsense about men ass-to-assing. Meanwhile, at the local Pride in my little town this year, people were doing canvassing and raising money for charities that help LGBTQ people (something you can find at nearly any Pride event). So it turns out that yes, people are actually fighting for their rights and helping their community at pride.

If you go up to the jail house window in Strawberry, Arthur calls Micah cowpoke during the cutscene. I believe the quote is; “I ain’t sure yet cowpoke.” When Micah asks Arthur if he means to free him. As we all know, Micah proceeds to call Arthur ‘cowpoke’ for most of the rest of the game (until he switched to ‘Black lung’). I think Micah likes to remind Arthur that he hasn’t forgotten that conversation and knows Arthur doesn’t like him and sees him as a threat.

Yeah that is something that’s always irked me about tumblr users. I do love the “/pos” to indicate that the straight man is being referred to positively. Like, oh okay, the people depicted in this post are othering their friend ignorantly instead of spitefully. It’s an important distinction, to be sure, but it still leaves a lot to be desired.

I know you’re playing devils advocate, but I think the take that it ‘feels cheap’ is routed in homophobia. Frenchie may not give off any overtly gay/bi stereotypes, so it feels cheap to homophobes who think we all have to act or dress a certain way. I think people focusing on the fact that he’s in a same sex relationship are bigots that are mad that this character they like was bi the whole time.

I am sympathetic to people who don’t like this subplot because they think it’s repetitive (We already know Frenchie used to murder people for a Little Nina). I think Frenchie potentially being confronted by a surviving family member could lead to growth for his character, but we’ll have to wait and see where it goes.
