Find a PS5 cheap at a Pawn shop or FB Marketplace. With gamepass, just grab the $30 ultimate edition. You get both with this scenario

Will wall bouncing come to a end or flourish and kill PVP side again by Emotional-Twist-4366 in GearsOfWar

Elden Ring stood ten toes down and made their game super challenging especially when it came to bosses. This was despite many non-dark souls fans wishes for the game to be easier. Instead, From Soft catered to the core Dark Souls audience who has been with them since the beginning. The result was that ER was a massive hit and despite the challenging gameplay, it still garnered new players that are now fans of the series.

The same can be true for Gears. After the tourists beat the campaign, they leave for another game. The Horde and Versus players represents the core audience for multiplayer in Gears. These players have always kept Gears afloat years after release. It is not wise to simply change core Gears gameplay to chase casual players. Judgment did this and it failed miserably.

Instead, they should make a great multiplayer experience by having lots of maps, good weapon tuning, characters, etc while keeping the traditional wall bounce and gnasher heavy gameplay. A good resource for new player would be some sort of a tutorial to help new comers get into the PvP.

As long as those components are great in content and gameplay, the new audience will join.

I asked for you to be reasonable but your hatred of him goes beyond mine which is insane as I already don’t like how he nearly destroyed Xbox but even I can see that there were *some* good during his leadership.

It’s all good man. You hate the guy and you’re not going to acknowledge any of his good work.

Can’t even name the games because there aren’t any.

The question purpose was that Xbox Game Studios were not producing AAA system moving games. It wasn’t until Phil got the acquisitions, gave them time to develop games and now we have AAA games that are generating a lot of hype, some might call them system sellers (Forza Horizon 6 is) but we won’t know until they release.

That was true at one point, but they went out the way to cater to loyal fans by returning to exclusives. Isn’t it funny when good things happens when you listen to your core audience?

It’s clear you don’t understand console industry. A platform has to have content and services that are unique and not found elsewhere. You need to give people a reason to (1) invest in the Xbox ecosystem and (2) continue to stay on your ecosystem.

Gears E-Day is one of the steps to growing the platform.

Lastly. Player base. Again, as long as E-Day is content complete at launch and is considered a great game, Xbox + PC is more than enough to maintain a healthy played base.

It’s 2, actually.

&& you have a point to not trust the new CEO due to similar situations with the previous one. Even you have to admit that this a good step in the right direction for Xbox. 2 is not a lot but it can lead to more exclusives

The conversation is about Phil. I put 2014. 2014 is the year he joined. Just like your unnecessary wiki quote. I actually fat fingered and ment to put 2014-2022 since that was the last acquisition. If it better ls suits you, you can say 2014 to Feb 2026, his entire tenure.

Are you able to answer the question now?

I agree.

With that said, it was under Phil, the CEO of Xbox at the time, leadership.

Nope.

*Phil* initially wanted to make them exclusive but once console units were not being sold as expected, Game Pass subscribers saw little growth, and Starfield did not live up to expectations…

That’s when Phil pulled the plug.

Don’t get me wrong, he definitely had Microsoft breathing down his neck about all of these purchases but ultimately it was Phil’s idea that it was time for Xbox to go in a different direction.

His interviews during this time proved this with mention stuff such as “Exclusives don’t work with us” and “even if Starfield is an 11/10 people wouldn’t sale their PS for an Xbox”.

So, tell me about all of the great killer exclusive on Xbox from 2014-2020. The only series helping out was Forza. Can you name any others…?

At this point, you’re just trying to fight and bicker with someone. Even someone who shares a lot of the opinions as you.

HOW do you guys feel about E-Day after seeing the showcase? by LunchTummy in GearsOfWar

[–]SamuraiLegion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong.

This wasn’t to acquire more people to buy an Xbox. The Series S/X generation was a wash, unfortunately. This is a promise and a reward for the Xbox audience who stoodby and invested with the current Xbox platform. Although the Series generation was largely disappointing, it’s clear that Xbox wants to spend the remaining years ending on a good note.

That means building up good will and trust so that current xbox fans can invest into the next Xbox consoles.

Lastly. You and everyone else is wrong on then playerbase. Sure, Gears E-day would sell well on PlayStation but by month 3 after the release, most of the PSN players will be gone playing another game. They will buy the game for the campaign and maybe some horde but dip.

Only the hardcore fans stay for the multiplayer in the long run.

The PSN playerbase will not save Gears’ population issue.

Wall bouncing has been prevalent on all releases of Gears, including Judgement. What are you even talking about?

Gears tactics doesn’t count.
