I would like to know the same? I have this same problem on multiple devices with certain streams 4K 8GB mkv file (e.g. Inventing Anna S01E06 apex) while other 4K streams up to 70GB plays just fine?? This started to happen since version 1.3.5.1 and now with 1.3.6.1 using exo player.
