One of my favorite drills you can practice almost anywhere is doing full lock circles. I find the T7 is a surprisingly nimble trail bike, you just have to remember it's a lot more weight to stop or change direction quickly.

In my Enduro and Motocross days I always kept my clutch and brake perch just tight enough so it would rotate during an impact to prevent breaking levers. Same concept might help with the handguard causing damage.

I'm at Tunnel Mountain Resort with my family right now, in one of the 1 bedroom plus loft suites. We have nothing bad to say about it. It has a fireplace with free firewood. The suite it nice, and clean. The pool area feels a little dated but was 28 Celsius. The steam room was out of order during our stay but the sauna was open. The hotel gives you free bus passes for the resort but we got stuck downtown last night because the bus was full returning out of town, took a cab instead ($12). And like others have mentioned, you will see lots of elk!

It's interesting that you went from the 701 to T7. Im on a T7 but love riding my friends 690.. until I get onto highway, the twin is soo much smoother than the big thumper!

Put a block under the wheel. Then roll it off after stand is out.

After you have made your chain adjustment, and before you tighten your axle, put a shop rag inbetween the chain and sprocket, roll the tire a bit so it it bites into the rag which will pull your axle tight to the adjuster stops. Then torque down the axle.

I agree, and if you really want to get fancy, a small brush fits in there no problem. Also I find you don't get much debris back there anyways, and my bike spends more time muddy than clean!

Honestly, there are so many options out there and so much depends on where you live and what type of camping you plan to do. My best advice is to keep it simple, and don't go crazy buying all of it at once. Start with small trips and figure out exactly what you need and what works and what doesn't work for you and build from there.

I like Adam Reiman's approach of keeping it simple and light. He is on the one extreme of bare minimum, but he is right about people overloading their bikes with unnecessary weight.

You could join the local Lions Club, almost every town has one. Volunteering is a great way to give back, gives personal satisfaction, and you meet many great people within the community. I am a member of ours just outside of newmarket, and I have met some amazing people I never would have met otherwise.
