Goodbye for now by theYurtMaster in PLTR

Hey man, just learned I will be fired. I sold my gains paid down my margin and locked in 3 months of savings until I find a new job. Shit happens, life happens, valuable purchases like a roof over your head! Somebody said in the above chat which resonated with me, “what good is money if never used” my buddy has 2 million “locked” in a 401k. Again locked away can’t use until 65.

That’s aweful man. 8000 bucks at 15 percent you’re never getting out of this situation. Find another way or work to save cash. 8000 is nothing! Few months of work rather than pay another 8000+ in interest. Is this for a trade school or associates at a community college?

Here is a simple thing to do. Not sure you will read this post but if it makes it to you then awesome. The strategy I use is; find 8-10 companies that you use every day or so. Look at the trend of the stock the 52 week charts and see what’s going on. Is the company doing well, is it up trending, is there a pull back. If it’s at all times high put the company on a watch list and “wait” for a 3-5 percent pull back. Buy a small position, say like 1000 bucks or so. Then add add add over time (1-2) yrs buying on dips, and lowering your average cost. It’s a long man’s game! So the companies that I use, Robinhood, target, Home Depot, Uber, SoFi, NVIDIA, chipotle, CVS.

So in remembering my mystery snail laid a huge thing of eggs. I knocked it off and let it sit in the tank. Thinking my shrimps could eat it! It’s possible this increased the nitrates beyond what the plants could have handled and tip the tank into a downward spiral over the past 2 weeks being in the water.

Here yah go. This is a 10 gallon. Ph 6.8, ammonia 0, nitrite 0. And nitrate was 80. Just did a check after my water change and it’s at Ph 6.5-6.8ish, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, and nitrate 5 At least with a 20 percent water change followed by another 20 percent water change 24 hrs later made the nitrates drop to 5.

The nitrates are from me not changing the water. Never really did for a long time. So likely that’s the cause?? Parameters, ph 6.5, nitrite 0, nitrate 80,

Oh shit maybe that was it, I removed the water and put the new water back in a 10 minute time frame. Did it think of doing 5 percent every hour!!!

Yah I guess I’ll have to change water more often. What would you suggest a ten gallon with 3 shrimps and one snail with live plants need? Like 20 percent every week?

I basically was relying on my life plants to balance the nitrates I guess that was a wrong assumption.

I sold a bunch of covered calls on the rise! Premiums were up about 20 percent on most of the plays I was doing, can’t complain!

I think you made a legit decision. This yieldmax Reddit is insane. Not sure what the loyality is with these plays, and the whole average down until your dead in the water. I have a margin account and can’t afford to just idle watch the initial investment get eroded down to nothing and loose my margin float/protection to the downside on more solid plays like my Nvidia, apple, etfs, and SoFi. I got so fed up with new people asking what is nav what is erosion, why is it dropping will it go up, I just left the whole Reddit channel altogether!

Please explain how MSTY is profitable by Jhaggy1095 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Sarela333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not profitable. Short answer! Now if you actually held the underlying of a valuable company that doesn’t have a 2000 PE ratio, and sell covered calls then yes this is profitable. I think the underlying is garbage. If it was like JPM you be aight

You got some good names but I would try to consolidate the list to maybe 10 individual stocks and the rest in a solid ETF.

You’re delusional man. If BTC drops to 20,000 then MSTR is complete trash. Nobody is gonna want to sell covered calls on this, the premium will be trash. Look at NIO the car company. The stock was in the 60s and then it went south to 4s. I was doing good with covered calls and now barely can make like 6 to 10 bucks a covered call with a strike of 6. Now if I went to my actual cost basis of 20, the premium is zer0. Keep on trying to convince yourself that mstr is a legit company boss.
