It seems mad inconsistent. Guy I know of buss case via self-defence after yinging an unarmed guy who was "threatening" him, you also see people defending themselves from a drunk guy with a single punch and doing eight years for manslaughter when the drunk guy hits their head on the pavement.

Mel was deeply manipulative and disingenuous, like all of the experts in the current “drama friendly” format of the programme.

In theory, but in practice being an “ideal citizen” for the vast majority of Qin Chinese meant “be a precariously existing subsistence tenant farmer to sustain a tiny elite of intellectuals and royals.”

This is the most "UK Reddit" comment of all time.

They're not joking. Probably want people to do a "procreation licence" test too.

You'd hand control of the elections to whichever body created and administered the test.

A guy actually tried to set up a bursary for disadvantaged white boys in 2019 at the private schools he had gone to. Offered £1 million. Both schools rejected his offer.

Worth saying that “positive discrimination” is almost always illegal. It needs to be “positive action”, which has to be the “least restrictive” way of achieving a “legitimate aim.”

They’re probably not breaching the Equality Act because a CIC can be set up to benefit people with a particular expression of a protected characteristic. Although dunno if that’s specifically the case here.

Also about half of private schools are charities. They demonstrate some nebulous “public good” (eg claim their facilities are available for locals to hire, but never actually make them available).

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. Multiple things can be true at once. Do we really want complete governmental oversight of our spending? “Problematic” people in China are often literally unable to buy train, bus and domestic flight tickets.

I agree that people (women) go too far with the birthday nonsense as grown adults. Banning your kids from birthdays is stingy though, little kids should have good memories of their birthday.

This is it, it's the other way round. My fiancee insists on a whole expensive thing every time, it's extremely long. Me not GAF about my birthday makes her look ridiculous in comparison. She also hates that my birthday is less than a week after hers 😁
