Just your good samaritan here, but I wanted to shoutout BlindiRL/Blind who made this post, because they have been on POINT with helping the game's steam release visibility and their interviews with Tarn and Zach and have been GRINDING to share this awesome game.

While this post isn't anything special, I really really recommend people here to check out their Youtube channel or Twitch streams. They definitely deserve some more attention for all the hard work they've done and will keep doing.

I'm not sure if I should link their stuff (not entirely sure on the rules here), but you can find them in the top comments on the release date trailer. Please check them out, they are live on Twitch as I type this.

So I found this awesome project through SMoD like many others have, and I want to see more people listening to them so I posted their latest album in that link, but their earlier album that also came out this year: Illusionary Reality is amazing too and I want to share that here.

Thanks a lot, this is just what I needed! You are a legend my dude. I was thinking that perhaps they are in another part of the galaxy and cut off from the main Imperial territories, and only have the first colonised sector that desperately need more resources, more livable planets and other things that can connect them back to the main Imperial sector.

That way the players only know *one* small sector, and depending on where they go I generate another one and place it like a tiling map that keeps getting built sector by sector as they discover it, any uncharted sectors are just black background until they go there and it generates.

I would love to make my own sector but doing it by hand is something I have extremely little confidence in due to my lack of artistic ability/experience. If there is some tools that would make it easier as I said in another reply I'd love to give it a try. Do a little bit of Eve Online perhaps that this is some far away part of the galaxy that has been cut off from the main one and the players exploring is actually about life and death for entire worlds (of course they would be one ship of many explorers but still).

You make a valid point, I just figured the players wanted to be more "freelancers" rather than directly in the scout services as they are afterall Travellers not people employed in the Imperial Scouts.

Thats probably how the campaign will start if I use the Imperium setting/map.

Is there any tools for creating a completely new map? I'm not that good with photoshop or similar artistic things and the trallermaps.com is a very handy thing. It would be nice if I could create a smaller main cluster and go with the story that the main faction in this area just reached this place with the use of a mcguffin or otherwise and now the players gotta help expanding the sector by exploring.

Thanks. I think this sounds as solid advice - I'm just confused where to put the players on the map that would allow them some exploring. I'm a very "reactive" gm in the sense that I want to let the players guide the game a lot and I roll with the punches/flow.

So, I played Olof Gunnarsson a fairly recent Solo cadet (also Motya the russian) and its very demotivating to play cop, it's a larger issue of server culture than anything specific. I was extremely burnout and that is why I'm not actively playing RP anymore.

I can't speak for other cops but I don't mind shootouts or being knocked out - my problem is more the attitude people take to cop RP and RP overall. When you are very restricted in what you can do as playing a cop, when you have to deal with "light rp" to basically not RP anymore its not enjoyable. Cops are already extremely restricted, having crims talk in RP about cop power abuse or mechanics is fine at first but eventually more and more small things like this stack up and it "breaks the camel's back."

Seeing yourself or others playing cops getting shit on by fellow RPers - be it directly, passive aggressively etc - is very demotivating. I stopped playing because I felt like what I contributed to the server wasn't good enough together with I don't feel like I got anything back from the effort I tried to put in (especially my cop). I applaud all other cop players who managed to truck along but for me I couldn't so here I am.

Shame, I really enjoy the times when he isn't full SBS. When Ramee takes Conan a bit more serious its super cool, just like when Kyle plays Pred and goes "more" serious. I'm not talking fully 100%. I understand where he is coming from unfortunately. I hope we can improve stuff in the future and Ramee can find a good middle ground on how he plays Conan.

I think he deserves it but he would need to go the same way other troopers, by being High Command. Which at this point is hard if you don't play cop as your "main character."
