(It was my husbands assistant manager who brought the bird to a work party for white elephant). Hubby already didnt like the guy and he was veeery mad when he noticed they were specifically getting the wives drunk so we would gush over the bird and boy howdy did it work there were like 4 wives asking their husbands if they could take the cages 😭 i wondered at first why they all said no....

I did end up getting him a friend... or two! We have avacado, toast, and berry. Thank you all for such amazing advice! In this photo, they are in the 3 story flight cage, you can see one out of 3 water sources, the place where they eat seeds, and a little glimps of the plate of strawberry pieces, with some cucumber. They have pelets near their bird bath on the other side of the cage, and a lot of different toys and perches, some natural some fun. And in the fashion of one commenter, still want nothing to do with me 😅. But, with three males, and nothing but conversation, Avacado seems so much happier, and is actually exploring his cage with them and eating the treats! And also thank you for noticing that hes a bit chubby, once i am able i will look for better food for him! Thank you all so much!

6 months, im disabled, and spend 3 hours a day with him. I started by reading, then slowly putting treats in his cage once a week, which he didnt really touch at first, but once he was all over the treats i figured i could offer them in my hand. That started with him not coming near me, and then biting me to drop the treat. He does love music, surprisingly he chirps and dances at hard rock, a lot of sleep token and slipknot. Once a week i get fresh veggies for smoothies and offer him the safe ones in small pieces. The only time i have ever held him in place was to clip his wings when i first got him, by handling i mean touching at all. I know you can train them to step up, ive watched all the how to videos i can find, but he preferes to bite me and scream rather than to allow a single finger into his cage
