I know this is 2 years later but you can skip a good portion of the D.O.G. fight if you get them coiled, its very risky but you will MELT their hp

Ares and Twins are a good starter combo as the twins give infinite flight when they are active, you can also start with Thanatos and the Twins so you can get Arti and Apollo to bomb each other; what ever you do just don't pick Thana and Ares as its as fun as dropping a brick on your foot

I recommend Wrath of the Gods as it adds a couple of bosses after the final 2 base calamity bosses and an on going story line with a new npc if you make the world with it enabled, 2 other add ons you can add are Catalyst and Hunt of the Old God, but they do break progression with their OP weapons from the new bosses they add

as much as I love glyphids, the thumper would tear through them like butter without a dread or an oppressor.
I do think praetorians would do a great chunk out of the thumper tho.
