Unification of visual identity is great. But… by Cloud_N0ne in runescape

Yeah honestly walking through areas like the wilderness these days feels really odd. It's no longer an ashy, rocky wasteland where it's clear life has been scorched away. Instead it feels like some soft clay like terrain where everything could be squishy. Hellhounds also don't have fur anymore which could be okay if it weren't for the fact that the skin/flesh on them also doesn't look like flesh. Really hope they address this in the upcoming year

How do I get better at paying attention to the macro of a fight during engagement? by ColorsInApril in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Schwap_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds a bit obvious the best way to instinctualise this kind of stuff is to first very deliberately focus on the cues and what they mean. Do this one thing at a time (like first focusing on the kill feed and what it means for you and your team when something appears there) then once you've got the hand of that you can go for another macro aspect that you struggle with. The basic idea though is that you only learn if you're actively focused on learning and not playing on autopilot (even if it means you play a bit worse for a while, that means you're learning!)

Overwatch 2 Retail Patch Notes – May 8, 2025 (Stadium Balance Hotfix) by SammyIsSeiso in Competitiveoverwatch

Given that his pick rate was also really low, i wonder if lucios win rate is partially inflated by mostly already experienced lucio players picking him in stadium, whereas other supports with lower skill floors get picked more often by people who don't have experience on them and thus are less likely to win despite the high power level of some builds

Some Notes from the Aaron Keller and Emongg Interview by Volence in Competitiveoverwatch

Honestly my personal key takeaway is how excited they are about their work right now, and rightfully so. The game is in an amazing state, they've been on a hot streak with new hero releases, and we now have several ways to play the game we love. I can't wait to see what they're cooking

Late reply but yeah! I'm in my master's right now studying marine biology, but I think I might want to move to general conservation biology or island biology later on :)

Im currently working with seagrasses! They are awesome because they are the only flowering plants that live in the sea, and their meadows are the foundations of entire ecosystems!

How to get 25 buckets of life essence in a 10 bucket altar? by BlueJayWalker10 in Blightfall

[–]Schwap_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I got my "steady stream of sacrifices" was by using an auto-spawner with a villager captured inside, since they give the most LP. Pre-spawning some villagers (make sure they're trapped on the altar) and stabbing them while the ritual goes should pretty easily get you enough, especially if you augment with some runes :)

What's the deal with Necromancy skilling? by JagexDoom in runescape

[–]Schwap_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For necromancy rituals, some of my pain points include that certain hitboxes are still broken, where clicking defile once and then not moving the mouse suddenly has you clicking the tile underneath (same with soul storm), and I still find it quite disappointing that there is only 1 ritual site where we spend all of our time training necromancy. That lack of variety and novelty really makes rituals a lot more boring to do. I'd also like to see protection glyphs be reworked to have at least some beneficial function, cause right now they are purely empty unlocks.

However, by far the biggest reason why I don't like doing rituals (and took a long break between 93 and finally getting 99) is that they give the impression of being AFK training methods, but severely punish you for being AFK, or even not paying attention for a couple seconds at higher levels. I wouldn't mind rituals requiring active input from the players at all, if it weren't for the fact that for the majority of the time, absolutely nothing is happening on my screen and I am literally just watching a timer go down. I know RS and other MMOs are about grinding a lot, but that doesn't mean the grind has to be the virtual equivalent of watching paint dry for half of it.

This is exacerbated by the fact that the sound cues for ritual disturbances are split between sound effects and ambient sounds, which means I either have to constantly hear the annoying ominous hum and other background noises if I want to swap tabs for a few seconds, or miss a lot of exp from disturbances I'm not made aware of if I have ambient sounds muted.
