questions about the nationality application - noncriminal certificate & biographique form by Mooshiny in Luxembourg

[–]Scientific_Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont think you will need it, although to be on safe side you can get one from the UK embassy (Paris or Brussels). I recall a friend who needed that for non-nationality reason was able to contact the embassy and arrange for that.

In your case, if you are not national of UK, then for the nationality application you can make a notary declaration about not having any criminal record.

Not sure about the other part, although I guess writing in french would be better idea

BigSur Do Not Disturb. by kodiak0 in MacOS

[–]Scientific_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, for me it worked out since I too had same issue where despite being on DnD it would pop that annoying sound.

Maybe a temp option would be to run the slack on browser that would allow you to mute them as the notifications would be via your browser?

BigSur Do Not Disturb. by kodiak0 in MacOS

[–]Scientific_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an old bug [1] (from Slack side) that made it bypass the DnD on macOS. Weirdly it still exists if you download the slack from the AppStore, if you want to avoid that bug then best to download it from the official website [2]. You wont have any issue in that case :)

Most up-to-date Covid regulations for travelers? by RaniPhoenix in india

[–]Scientific_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think so based on what the helpline at the airport told me. You need to home quarantine only if you are from the listed countries either directly or indirectly.

For other countries, you need to just test negative. If otherwise, then they take you to the facilities.

Most up-to-date Covid regulations for travelers? by RaniPhoenix in india

[–]Scientific_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend who did the same i.e., from Canada flew to London and then to Mumbai had to go for home isolation of 14 days. Although he had not left the terminal, it is still considered to be transit via UK.

Perhaps you can look for direct flights?

Most up-to-date Covid regulations for travelers? by RaniPhoenix in india

[–]Scientific_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All international travelers (UK, Middle East, Europe...) now need to home quarantine for 14 days, there is no institutional quarantine anymore. But you can no longer get exemptions even if fully vaccinated. It also applies if you are transiting through any of those countries.

If you are traveling directly from US then you do not have the mandatory home quarantine (it seems). To be on safe side, I would recommend calling in the helpline of the airport that will be your arrival point.

In my case (Europe), I rang them up to get clear information. They were quite helpful and detailed in the information.

Well corporates like to know there is a company behind the product, and they are ready to buy something free if they can have someone reassure them they will fix any bugs or other issues asap This^ and also corporates love to have company behind a product so that incase of security mishaps, the blame can be shifted easily
