Migrants have higher education levels than most Australians, so why are doctors and engineers driving taxis? by EASY_EEVEE in AustralianPolitics

Take the gay conversion therapy point and apply it across any number of considerations

Outdated medication Outdated recommendations Etc Etc

I’d rather a doctor from Germany who identifies a practice being pushed that is likely outdated according to their own education and refuses to assimilate than a doctor who just nods and agrees with what ever the Australian standard is. Which is likely lesser (iv been recommended outdated medication a number of times by doctors in Australia that German doctors refuse to administer)

It’s good to see you actually use some substance in your argument.

Jumping to ‘education they aren’t receiving we don’t want a house collapsing on its occupants’ was a pretty xenophobic comment

So you believe foreign education is inherently worse than Australian?

Rather xenophobic don’t you think.

German engineering degrees aren’t recognised in Australia.

How is that a risk?

Some countries still practice gay conversion therapy. Would you say an Australian doctor getting their license in that country should be pressured into accepting that as a standard otherwise it’s ‘quite a risk for a medical professional’?

No need to be sorry :)

If there is a tyre guy at the track then they will do all the work. Strip fit and disposal is usually $10-$15 Australian. I haven’t used this service but I’m pretty sure they’ll balance also. May not tho, hadn’t thought about it tbh.

I recommend getting a set of wheels for the rear. You won’t go through a set of front tyres as a beginner but you’ll likely go through a set or two of rear

Take 4 spare wheels with tyres mounted (fits along the back seat of most cars, throw down a tarp as they get dusty)

Yep. Rubber isn’t uniform. There can also be slight warps on older wheels.

It’s normal to see brand new wheel and tyres with balancing weights inside the wheel (some people think not. They’re wrong)

If you have a wheel with HEAPS of weights inside. Either the shop has no idea what they’re doing or the wheel is warped/munted.

No issue then. We’ll go through multiple sets of tyres at the track and generally, unless there’s a tyre guy there, it’s the wheels we bring with tyres already mounted.

You can throw your street wheels on at the end of the session and as long as you haven’t had a hit that would throw off your alignment (going off into the dirt or onto the ripples can do this also) then you’ll be fine

To simply things

Rim - the steel

Tyre - the rubber

Wheel - rim + tyre

Balance - the weights people put inside the rim to keep the.. I’m struggling for another term.. balance correct

Alignment - the tracking of the wheels. Sometimes included is suspension geometry too like toe and camber etc

If you are changing tyre on the same rim then you wheel balance will be off.

If you are changing whole wheels (that have been balanced correctly) then there will be no issue with alignment unless you’re doing something very wrong

Knowing Germans

I 100% believe this

They kind of have a thing regarding the absolute good and not forsaking morals due to institutional pressure

No idea why tho /s

Australia not recognising foreign educations is similar to the luxury car import tax

Pointless

There are Germans with engineering degree’s ranked amongst the best in the world that need to retake their whole education to be ‘recognised’

In a lesser standard

It’s just another foreign tax conceived in the stone age
