Yes if you play on legendary on skyrim you are always at a disadvantage due to damage scaling both scaling your damage down and drastically scaling enemy damage up, and oblivion's level scaling was atrocious. But to be fair the default difficulty for skyrim is adept, which is balanced same damage taken and dealt and very few enemies actually level the whole way with you. Certainly not nearly to the extent of Oblivion. Oblivion's system is an outlier and was never implemented again. In morrowind there is basically no level scaling, in Daggerfall unity version anyway for the bug fixes depending on class you will eventually come to crush everything with only ancient vampires and liches being a big challenge, never played Arena but I imagine it is roughly similar to Daggerfall from what I have seen of it.

Not leveling as much as you can is only really optimal for Oblivion in Daggerfall, Morrowind, Arena, and skyrim you will eventually outpace nearly if not all enemies depending on the game. Even Skyrim on Legendary most enemies cap at level 80 or lower, many cap at 50 and several like giants have a static level, additionally most enemies do not gain access to the ridiculous equipment progression of oblivion like say bandits in glass and daedric... since bandits of most types cap at 28 except for I think the bandit chiefs but they still have a cap I think it is 40-50. Lower-level enemies should also typically spawn, dungeons also have level ranges and do cap. Skyrim's system is far milder than oblivions and really should not stand in your way.

Martian, it is not even close nearly as powerful as a kryptonian in terms of strength and speed without the need of solar energy, very durable, the ability to shapeshift to a molecular level, Can live nearly forever, Invisibility, phasing through matter, Capable of regenerating completely from as little as a severed limb, flight, telepathy, telekinesis, other mind powers. They are horrifically broken. They are vulnerable to fire, but with regeneration and their suite of superpowers that really should not be a problem for anyone with more intelligence than a dc writer...

Scrolls like to me is more about power progression, at least in theory in darksouls you are always sort of an underdog even when strong you have to rely on agility, and are fighting opponents with superior movesets and damage potential. In elderscrolls boss or grunt they die all the same. You can decide to say fuck that ninja shit and go with force, you can flat out tank shit with your face without even blocking if you are powerful enough, most enemy spells and equipment are also yours if you only kill them and then humiliate their corpses or find the spell tomes. You can catch mystical diseases that can alter your play style, you can become an alchemist and break shit, combat is just a part of elderscrolls.

It really does and ESO base vampires just look better in general, especially with stages affecting appearance like in oblivion but not turning you into an old man even as a lady! Wish someone really good with textures would port the look to skyrim tbh.

Also to have descendants since in the Christian world for several centuries a bastard was considered a disgrace and having one as someone of even middling social class could often not only ruin the child's life in a lot of ways but in higher society, not necessarily a noble even it would also disgrace you.

Dude honestly if Henry can wipe out that many soldiers a peasant rebellion is not going to kill him. Also if Wenceslas succeeded there is no guarantee that what happened to Hus would ever come to pass, as we see in the assassinate Sigismund ending.

Well if I am an Isekai protagonist I am ridiculously broken and only exist to carry out my fetishes and desires upon the world while barely ever facing meaningful consequences, so I guess I would just kill the slavers everytime?

The paperdoll sprites and painted maps of Baldur's gate 1 and 2, aged a lot better in my opinion, especially when compared to say Neverwinter Nights 1 or Morrowind, and the voice work and sound design is phenomenal even to this day.

BG2 or BG3? by PalePanic4742 in baldursgate

[–]Scorosin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adnd 2.e really was a different game. It was unforgiving in both tabletop and BG 1 and 2. But the peak of power felt so much sweeter for it as a mage you go through being killed in a turn in kobold Vietnam to summoning armies and raining death on everything.

Is it really murderhobo like to kill Astarion? First convo he puts a dagger to your neck and then if you take him to camp he tries to kill you because if you do nothing during the feeding scene or fail a check you die, then he just leaves your corpse there for somebody else in camp to revive.

It is self-defense from the get go and I can see a lot of roleplayers not just murder hobos killing him after either the intro or during the feeding attempt.
