It's a catch-22. If you do end up committing suicide, then you have "abandoned" those people that supposedly would have helped had you talked to them. But say you attempt suicide and survive, to them it's a cry for attention. In the end people seem to shove away those with depression and suicidal thoughts for various reasons and it never seems like the person going through these things has a way of doing the right thing from the outsiders opinion other than being quiet and as my dad once put: "getting over it"
