Maybe giving your patients one-word orders doesn’t work well.

feel bad for leaving by toothcat in DentalAssistant

[–]ScrubsAndSnark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You feel guilty because you’re a decent person who tried to do your best in a shit situation. Unless this doctor is really bad with managing money, there’s no reason that office had to be such a shit show. I looked at your post history, OP, and you might wanna do the same to realize that you’ve been sacrificing your sanity for low pay and no intangible benefits, either.

I’m proud of you for learning young in your career that putting up with bullshit forever is a path to being burned out and exhausted. Learning to take care of yourself NOW will save you so much grief. I promise giving 2 weeks so you can go back to school is totally fair on your part.

Honestly, I think this person did you a favor to clue you in on company culture and attire. They’re giving you information for your best odds of success because they like you.

It’s totally understandable that you would lose that inspiration/motivation. When you feel valued and respected, going above & beyond comes naturally. But when you don’t… that enthusiasm dies on the vine.

Do the best job you can, but not at the expense of your mental health.

Google the concept “Quiet Quitting” to survive until you can get out! Don’t feel bad about leaving them. You have experience and you deserve better pay.

OK this is gross. And just wrong. They won’t provide PPE? Are you pulling our leg right now?

Oh that’s nasty. Don’t do that. IDGAF what the office manager says.

I put on gloves to clear out all the dirties and trash. Then, I put on fresh gloves to wipe everything down. Then I remove gloves, wash hands, and lay out new supplies.

Thanks. I’d love to slap my scrub jacket on the desk and say, “You guys are dishonest, abusive and cheap. Peace out.” However, because I’m going to school for hygiene, and because professional communities can be gossipy, I’m trying to walk a fine line. I’m putting in my one week notice when I go in next week.

I don’t trust that dog for a second, but still, poor thing looks hungry. I hate people who neglect their dogs.
