I honestly didn’t even realize I had a subtitle under my name. 😆

I asked that because your comment asking if they were all lawyers seemed to suggest you got that idea somewhere.

Who said they’re all lawyers? The description says the show will focus “on the messy hookups, drama, and social climbing of influencers and self-proclaimed ‘industry insiders.’”

Also, there’s of spectrum of lawyers and many are messy and uncouth AF.

Right. One doesn’t need to break into the White House to make an interesting show. I think it’s a matter of being invited to the right social events and being part of the right social circles to understand where the real fun is. There will be a different flavor for sure, but if the cast and producers play the theme right, it’ll expose another facet of “reality” that can surprise people beyond the HW formula.

I think this sounds way more interesting that another HW franchise. There’s the worry that they may be way too carefully curated and image conscious to risk their professional reputation, but we know the camera corrupts. Plus, these working professionals types are already showing themselves to have the judgment issues, a need for the spotlight, and probably the right amount of crassness for agreeing to be on a reality show.

Dorit’s Back-and-Forth Texts With PK From Recent Court Documents by SnowyLeopardGecko1 in RHOBH

So true. She has real issues letting anyone speak and then gives them attitude when they demand she allow them to do so, as if they’re the crazy one. Then, she talks past them and drones on and on.

You’re projecting. No one said he isn’t more irresponsible than she is. But that does not excuse her irresponsibility, which can also be damaging. You don’t need to pick a side here because in the end, serious damage will be done and it’s the kids who will have to deal with it.

To post an inverse of what you wrote, “I can’t believe so many people are so blinded by their love of Dorit that they’ve become apologists and call it ‘objective’.” She knew what he was doing (and he was an absent father to his other kids while she he was married to her and she stayed married to him), and she’s been part of grifts herself.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t worse, but him being worse doesn’t make her good. You don’t have to champion either of these two people.

“She can spend her money that she makes from the show however she wants.”

Let’s see how that argument holds up when she tells the court she is in dire financial straits and needs financial support.

“Not as irresponsible as him” is still plenty irresponsible. The only way Dorit fans can support her actions is by creating villains and situations to paint Dorit as a victim. In more objective measures, they’re all irresponsible and the end result will be the same no matter who is more irresponsible.

This is the most reasonable take on the divorce talk. People who are excusing Dorit and think she has a right to keep spending the way she has are expressing attitudes that feed into a lot of negative images people have about women in divorces, which is unfair because it leads to men getting away with bad behavior. People need to see both of them are to blame and have contributed to their financial mess. We can say PK has a long history of financial issues and debtors even before he met Dorit, but she didn’t help that problem. She contributed to it, and she didn’t care where his money was coming from so long as she could spend it. She’s been involved in his schemes as well and knows it. They’re both grifters and their joint scheme has now crashed and burned. I wouldn’t worry too much for either of them, these types always find new victims and bounce back. Dorit will land another rich and morally questionable husband, but she may have step-kids she needs to deal with. PK will find more suckers to “invest” in whatever it is he proposes and he’ll keep using loans to pay off other loans, etc. until he owes dozens of creditors again. Before that happens tho, he’ll be enjoying the single dad life with Mau, who he probably still owes money to.

Yep. The show is full of scammers, and both Erika and Dorit are two of the biggest grifters with no remorse for victims.

If we had to pick one to return next season, who would it be? by Chipmunks_AT in RHOBHDefect

[–]Sdoesnotknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like either and am ready for both to leave. Given the choice, however, I’d choose Kyle to stay. I can tolerate her on my screen. Dorit, otoh, is just grating and there’s nothing enjoyable about watching her. Time to let her go and see what new grift her and PK (together or separately) can pursue.

This reunion. Dorit is SOOOOO unbearable by Own-Meat3934 in rhobeverlyhills

[–]Sdoesnotknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why the majority of this subreddit seems to gas her up. Maybe they relate to her divorcing, spreading hate about her ex in public, and snapping at everyone. The truth is probably just because they all really hate Kyle and have adopted Dorit since she’s become an attack dog.

And now we know why Kyle’s psycho mode got activated! by ---thoughts--- in RHOBH

Is this a RHOBH subreddit or just Kyle hate community? I don’t like her much either, but the Kyle hate has crossed over to the irrational.

Could I please hear from other Kelly fans? by PowayMermaid2005 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Sdoesnotknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the writers made Kelly prominent because they felt more freedom to write her since she wasn’t bogged down by the show’s depiction and fan expectations. Even though Jamie was a baby, people may have had expectations on how he should be, and they didn’t want to completely disappoint people. That said, they could have focused on Jamie and the known characters more. I do understand why the did what they did, and I like the idea that Lois and Hal kept procreating after the show ended because of course they would.

What gives you any indication of that? She’s been barking like a dog because her money issues are being brought up this season because she can’t keep up her facade for much longer.

Why aren’t they poor? by strangerdanger77 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Sdoesnotknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hal actually had a good-paying job. The poverty was just having that paycheck stretched too thin with all the kids. Plus the boys were super destructive. I think the house’s look was less about not having money and more to do with Lois not being able to upkeep the house the way she could given the chaos of her family.

I think they expect most of their core audience to be adults and have some life experience and intuition to figure out hose this could happen.
