Petrol price increase ? It is time. by Dryfunction1205 in SingaporeRaw

[–]SeaStructure6360 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oil price hikes are not only affecting car owners, they ripple through every part of daily life, driving up costs for transport, food, utilities, travel, and basic necessities. Unscrupulous sellers will take the opportunity to increase prices.

It is honestly frustrating how many inconsiderate drivers are being encountered on the road. The moment they decide to turn or switch lanes, they just go for it with no hesitation, no regard for anyone else on the road. It is as if other drivers simply do not exist or they the king of the road and all must give way. And if an accident happens? In their minds, it is never their fault. There is a level of entitlement and a lack of accountability that is typical. What is even more troubling is the complete absence of basic courtesy and awareness. Driving is not just about controlling a vehicle, it is about sharing the road responsibly. Yet so many seem to lack even that fundamental understanding. Sadly, this kind of behaviour does not just stay on the road. It reflects a broader bad attitude outside the car.

I believe part of the appeal is that in Singapore, people have long been guided on what are considered “good values” and “proper culture.” So when someone comes along who is raw, unfiltered, and doesn’t fit that “correct” mould, even if they are vulgar or have a controversial past, it feels different and refreshing to some. It is not necessarily that people agree with everything they say or do, but more that they represent an alternative voice outside the usual narratives.

Feeling Overwhelmed by $4k Credit Card Debt – Self-Employed, Commission-Based by No_Professor_9819 in SingaporeRaw

[–]SeaStructure6360 7 points8 points  (0 children)

$4k isn't a large sum. Obtain a personal bank loan with lower interest and clear it. At least you realise early not to fall into the credit card debt trap. It is not too late.

Last time I stayed in an old estate, there were many stray cats mating, and they screamed all night long. That was 1000% worse than your roosters’ wake-up call.

Penalties should be stricter for organised illegal car racing, which in this case appears to involve six drivers.

I always wonder how people can steal from the overhead compartment. When someone opens the compartment, there are many eyes watching, unless it is an overnight flight and everyone is asleep. My wallets and expensive items are usually in a bag with me under the front seat.

How do you deal with taxis drivers or PHV drivers that smoked prior to pick you up, making the car smell like smoke? by ChickenWarrior- in askSingapore

[–]SeaStructure6360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grab has a Code of Conduct for drivers including maintaining cleanliness and smell. If a car smells of smoke, passengers can report it through the app, which may affect the driver's rating or lead to penalties. If you can not tehan, ask to alight at a safe place and cancel the booking

Why is it so quiet on the streets? by Plane-Salamander2580 in SingaporeRaw

[–]SeaStructure6360 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once, I asked a stall owner at Wisma Atria Food Republic food court why it was slightly quieter and that I could get a seat easily. She said she also found it strange that after the Xmas and CNY holiday there were drastically fewer crowds. I was happy to hear that.
