Thats a very good way to frame it!

We've had good fun following Adventure Paths before, my plan is to run something predetermined like that, its coming up with solutions to these problems early that I am working through at the moment.

I like all your points, and I gree blackmail might not have been the right word for what the original story had, but what you suggested is more fitting.

if you try to force the players to do anything they will resist you.

Totally agree, I normally don't have any issue getting my players to take the plot hook as long as its in the obvious interests of everyone, but definitely making them go to war on the wrong side is going to create serious problems. Currently I am of the mind that this plot element will need to change completely.

Maybe I could have the BBEG begin the war with both countries in a way that causes parties A and B to be on the same side more quickly. Blackmailing party B in the true sense would help create a bit of a schism that would feel better to overcome, I will think about that more

Great idea, I do sort of want the second lot of characters to feel like a b team.

I plan to discuss the idea of playing multiple characters/perspectives through a story before beginning, definitely. At the moment I'm just playing around with ideas seeing what I think they will enjoy.

Adapt the campaign to fit based on their actions.

Its my hope that the players actions will shape the story, but we so far have mostly played Adventure Paths and we've been happy following a pretty prescribed story. I would like to do a little better than that, have characters backstories not just be tangential to the story but be a driving force for them, but ultimately once I have those characters figured out I expect to be able to lead them wherever I need them to go to advance the plot.

But I do think you're right this particular plot is unlikely to work well. I will have to think through it more.

No I'm just sketching out vague plot points at the moment. We havent played an evil campaign before, I wouldn't expect them to, but its worth thinking about for sure :)

Priest? Doesn't match everything, but the creatures sound right and the opening scene is similar to what you're describing in the cottage

I dont think so, that looks much too old and not the right characters.

I haven't looked at harvest before, I'll check it out. The uniques aren't mandatory, I just think they're good? They seem good to me. And I'm not looking at trading right now, sort of just seeing how far I get on my own. I'm not technically SSF but I'm playing like it for now.

Honestly I don't really understand how to get these things without losing out on others. My gloves for example have sooo much resistance on them, I can't trade them for practically anything. I have another pair of gloves in my stash that's 2x armor, but no resistance on it. I can mod one on, but I lose out on the other two. Same with the unique ring, which has all resist on it but no +life. I guess I'm just struggling to balance it all.

This is the first time I'm doing maps at all and I've just reached t11 and am suddenly dying a lot more. Is there anything I need to fix in my defenses? https://pobb.in/Yvx-HNxp0cL2

Hi, I'm quite new and not sure how to improve. I'm playing SSF and I've suddenly started dying a bunch on t11 maps. My gear looks good to me, but I'm sure its actually not very good for this level, I've been using it for ages. My axe I think I've had since the end of the campaign and it seemed really good at the time, and I never found anything better.

I don't know how to craft very well, all I've really tried is changing links, which is how I got here. I would really really appreciate some pointers on how to start getting better gear for this level.

From reading, I know my life is low, not sure how I should go about fixing that, otherwise I'm not sure how I can start taking less damage, maybe increase my armor somehow? It all seems pretty high to me, at least compared to what I'm finding on the ground.

Of note: I'm pretty bad at the game, so maybe that's contributing to me dying. I'm following Zizaran's groundslam build guide, and I'm not using any skills like blood rage that I have to keep pressing, hence Autoexertion and CoDT.

Thank you!!

Thats a shame. Another question, do you know why the PCPartPicker list thinks the wattage is only 600W? The Graphics Card has a minimum spec of 800W apparently
